“Great rooms, great pub and great hot tubs”
Reviewed September 12, 2009

Three of us (my husband, Mom and I) stayed at the Pan Pacific Mountainside September 7-11. We stayed in the 2 bedroom valley view, the even though it was the 'cheaper' view it was still great. The living room and smaller bedroom overlooked part of the village and the balcony and the larger bedroom overlooked Blackcomb.

We were in room 812. I highly recommend that room if it is available, since it was the top floor it had vaulted ceiling and windows. The suite was spacious and well appointed including the kitchen and had more storage then you could even imagine needing on vacation.

We had some minor maintenance problems with the room (the TV needed a wire replaced and the fireplace was stuck on high) but these issues were quickly resolved. The only negative was the wireless internet did not reach our room, we had to use the wired internet that was also available.

James at the front desk was great and very helpful in getting us reservations to the Araxi Hell's Kitchen viewing party (also highly recommended if you are in town on a Tuesday or Wednesday in the next few weeks) he also booked us the Olympic venues tour.

The hotel was well situated in the village a short walk to anywhere, but we really enjoyed staying in, relaxing in the hot tubs and going to the excellent pub downstairs.

We stayed in early Sept 2009 with a 6 yo child. We stayed in a one bedroom suite which was great with a child. We requested a room with a view and the friendly staff allocated a great room on level 7 with a huge window looking directly onto the slopes at the foot of whistler. We could see the mountain bike runs, whistler gondola and the Peak to Peak gondola. We could imagine the sight in winter with a blanket of snow.
The desk staff were an eclectic international mix of young and genuinely enthusiastic professionals. They were welcoming, friendly and polite without a hint of pretension. The village stroll was a few steps away. Free wireless and cable internet in the rooms helped with trip planning.
The hotel had an Irish themed pub which we did not explore, and no other bar or cafe areas.
We recommend staying here, enjoying the location, pool and view and going to the Fairmont Hotel for cocktails and picking some restaurants in the whistler village.
The Trip Adviser reviews were right. Consider this hotel.

We stayed in this hotel for three days with our two grandchildren aged 9 and 7. The checkin was great and we were upgraded to a mountain veiw. We had a two bedroom and kitchen which is a must with young ones. The pool and hot tub area is great and kept very clean. The location is the best for walking the village and to other areas. It was nice to sit and watch all the activity in the village from your patio. We really enjoyed staying at this hotel and will definately return. And if you are staying in Whistler make sure to do the Peak to Peak.

We stayed there three days and the location of the hotel, free internet, great breakfast, and room amenities were great. If we ever visited Whistler again this would be an easy choice. The people working there were as nice as could be too. If you want to watch mountain biking from your room however you might investigate the Pan Pacific Mountainside. This place is easy to recommend. The Zip line was fun-We tried the Eagle, my family liked mountainbiking, and Peak to Peak. Try to figure out and plan your activities before or right when you get there to be able to take advantage of best time, and specials. The Pan Pacific has a great all you can eat buffet on the weekends...worth going to. Best ribs ever eaten per the boys.

I stayed in a studio Valley view suite. I loved that the Pan Pacific was very very clean (major factor for me), the murphy bed was super comfortable and the pool was nice and stocked with towels. The staff was pretty friendly. I can't say it was the best hotel I've ever stayed in but it is pretty up there. I really having nothing negative to say about this hotel; it's definitely recommended.

We spent 3 nights at the Pan Pacific Mountainside as the 5th stop of a 6 stop trip to BC and Seattle. We had a 1 bedroom suite which was alright, but we did expect more from the Pan Pacific. The room was a bit worn with only the kitchen appliances having been recently replaced. The unit was also very small compared to the similar one bedroom suites with kitchens that we had in two previous stops on the trip.

The biggest disappointment was in the breakfasts. The breakfasts were included as part of our package. The fact that they served what appeared to be tater tots as their idea of hash browns was strange, and the overall quality of the food was not even up to Denny’s standards. They were also short of waitress help all 3 mornings. We have spent a lot of nights in 5 star hotels, and this hotel did not make it.

We stayed at the Pan Pacific Mountainside for the second time this past weekend and loved it even more than the first time we were there...and we had returned because we were so happy with it last time.
First the service is outstanding...everyone is so friendly and helpful.
Next the rooms are so comfortable - space is well used, beds are so plush, everything you need is there for you and if you were lucky enough to book a mountain view room, you will need go no further than your patio for a lovely evening.
The location too is the best - close to all the fun whistler has to offer and the pool and hot tub make for a wonderfully relaxing day or evening.
We hope to be back next year!
