“Simply Wonderful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2013 via mobile

My friends asked me to book a restaurant in Whistler to celebrate some good news we had received. I had been at the Grill Room twice before and had always enjoyed the experience as well as the glorious surroundings. The Grill Room is a stunning restaurant, beautiful tables with crisp white linen, an open fireplace which aids in the homely feel without being stuffy - very relaxed but still with a simple justified dress code. Once seated our server promptly discussed our menu options and answered all our excitable questions - she was fantastic (I'm sorry I don't remember her name), she was patient and very attentive although you were never aware she was there filling your water or wine glass but if you needed her she was at your side immediately. We started with 2 seafood platters that were visually spectacular as well as fresh and delicious, this course set the standard and with each course came an abundance of mouth watering sheer indulgence!! The speed of service was perfect, enough time to chat between courses and get ready for the next one. All in all including the amuse-bouche at the start and finishing with the cotton candy we had had 7 courses of wonderfully taste-bud tantalizing-gloriousness!! We all agreed that the meal had been a resounding success and something we would love to repeat again in the near future. To the team at The Grill Room we wanted to say a HUGE thank-you for looking after us and providing us with some magical memories!!

“Expensive Look, Expensive Price..Not for Kids.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2013

Fresh/sustainable foods/ best of quality...10 dollars for a dish of mashed potatoes??? Spacious/ white tablecloths/ needed up dating and bring in more of a BC feel. Felt European. CANNOT RESERVE A CHOICE OF TABLE!! Good for oldies and groups of business people. Not Romantic, not for kids, too bright, but perfect for well seaoned travellers who are over 55. staff will be attentive. We cancelled as it feels like you should dress up and be ready to take your time over dinner. The Excellent we give it was from a visual view. very clean and ready for your choice of an expensive bottle of wine.

“Dinner special”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2013 via mobile

This was our second time dining at this restaurant. We took an advantage of slow season dinner special. For $40 per person, 4 course, we could not be any happier! My boyfriend ordered two glasses of champagne without looking at the bar menu to celebrate my birthday. A surprised to learn $36 a glass later. For our main, we ordered pork chop and beef tenderloin. It was prepared to perfection. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. Will be back or sure!

“Delicious Halibut”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2013

It's a very nice, cozy & grandeur looking restaurant. We were seated close to the fireplace. And being that it was just after the Thanksgiving rush, the restaurant was quite deserted aside another couple. I decided to try the signature dish, which was the Seared Halibut. Delectable! Overall, a very nice dining experience.

“Top Notch Service and Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

I dined at the Grill Room in February 2013 while on a ski trip at the Fairmont. It was to be our one "nice" dinner of the week, and they met and exceeded my expectations.

The server, a young gentleman from Australia, was exceptional with his knowledge of wine pairings and recommendations. My Manhattan and our subsequent glass of wine was fantastic and complemented our aged steak perfectly.

The restaurant is pretty large and open, but the noise doesn't echo across the hall like some other establishments. Even in the size of it, I still felt cozy and comfortable for a romantic dinner for two.

In total, for a three-course dinner for two with drinks and tip, our total was around $200 USD. I already have plans to return to the Grill Room in January on our trip back to Whistler.
