The first floor room was delightful. All staff(housekeeping to front desk) were very friendly and helpful. I especially appreciate the thoughtfulness, consideration and kindness given to their own staff, Mike for Haylee and Mikes wedding reception. Food was excellent.

Room Tip: Main floor with patio access

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the last ten years. On our last two visits we were not sure we'd return as it was definitely getting to look very outdated and somewhat unkempt. However, we again made a reservation for a few days stay this year and were happy to see the exterior renovations completed. We were told they are in the process of updating the interior as well and I'd say none too soon.
The reservation and reception personnel are excellent and always available to answer questions about stores, directions, etc. This has always been one of their best assets!
Our room was okay, but the carpeting really needs to be replaced. The mattress was alright but I'd say new ones are needed in the near future. The seat on the toilet does not properly fit the particular model they have, and bare legs often rest on the porcelain which is a bit annoying. This also happened in last year's room. The little fridge is always appreciated as we like to have bottles of water on hand. One improvement I did notice this year was the housekeeping was much better. We had a lovely young lady from the Maritimes who did a great job and enquired whether there was anything else we needed, etc. Definitely a big improvement from last year.
The restaurant is excellent with good hours, food and service. We didn't use the pool the last couple of years but did see a large party going in so it appears to still be busy. There is a computer room in the lobby and free Wi-Fi is available. The loss of the casino a few years ago does make it quieter, but also means driving a little distance to the new one. The mall across the street is okay, with the Bay being the nicest store, and the new Target almost empty which the locals told me has been the usual since its opening. However a short drive, or about a half hour walk if it's not too hot out, gets you downtown where there are lots of interesting stores to wander through and other restaurants to sample.
There are great golf courses in the area, and this year we tried The Rise which was fun to play, very reasonable, and had great views.
This is a good, reasonable hotel to stay at and if the interior renos include new beds and carpets I think it will be even better. We will definitely stay here every time we come through.

Room Tip: If you have a mobility issue, book a room on the first floor of the wings, or in the tower which has...

Another Hotel, that was not pet friendly, recommended the Village Green Hotel to us. How truly glad we were that they did. We travel with our three small dogs because we can never find anyone to care for them when we are gone from our home in Alaska. Of all the hotels we stayed in during our 6,300 mile vacation, the Village Green was the best and the friendliest. We would recommend the Village Green Hotel to anyone. The pet accommodations were unbelievable. Great job Village Green Hotel.

Room Tip: I can only assume all the rooms are as wonderful as the one we had.

while the other comments are true, there is a lot of noise coming from the hall and the streets and they certainly need new mattresses, the springs kept poking me, and the service in the restaurant is real slow, it is located quite centerally, the mall is right across the street, there are restaurants close by, and they have a lovely little court yard area right in the middle of the hotel were you can sit outside of your room ( if on ground floor) an admire the pond, flowers, little critters and scenery. they also are a pet friendly hotel and have a huge area for the dogs to do their business. on leash of course. I go up there approximately 4 times a year and well keep doing so as long as i can handle the drive up there lol

Whatever you do make sure you book a room on the first floor, over looking the beautiful gardens, and fountains. It is wonderful to sit there in your own lil paradise listening to the peace.
Had a great time. Hotel was clean, staff were amazingly helpful. Have had two trips to Vernon now and stayed at Village Green both times. Will stay again, and have recommended it to friends.

Room Tip: Anything on the first floor overlooking the gardens
