Attraction details
Owner description: Polson Park is located near the heart of Vernon, adjacent to Highway 97 and Highway 6. The park was established in 1908 when Samuel Polson donated a large parcel of land to the city. Located in the park is the Lawn Bowling Club, the Interior Space and Science Centre, the Arts Council and Vernon Heritage Hall.Polson Park is probably best known for the Floral Clock that was installed in 1958. The date is changed daily and it provides a great photo with its colourful background. Further into the park you will find the Japanese Garden, which was donated by the Japanese Community and the Chinese Pagoda, which was donated by the Chinese Community. Both were constructed in 1967 as Centennial Projects. The Rose Garden, a perennial favorite and also a Centennial project, is located in the south east of the park. Specific areas of the park can be reserved for your special event such as weddings, social gatherings and concerts.

“Timeless and Beautiful!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

I have been going to Polson Park for 36 years, loved it then, love it now! I used to walk from South Vernon pushing my kids in the carriage and we would spend the day in the Kiddie pool feeding the ducks and eatting our lunch beneath the beautiful weeping willow trees. Then 18 years ago I started taking my grand kids to do the same things, the Kiddie pool had turned into a small waterpark but the ducks were still there and lunches under the trees and they loved it as much as my children did. Just the other day my new 1 year old grand son fed the ducks and was wildly squeeling with excitement like all of this family before him! When in town, I recommend Taking a lunch and your Family and enjoy one of the most serene places in Vernon.

“Beautiful park for walking and activities”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2014

What an incredibly wonderful place to walk and/or have a picnic! There's a walkway (including a boardwalk) leading up to the park right behind Kal Tire. It's now my favourite place to spend my lunch break!!!

Polson Park, what can you say, it is a nice park, nicely groomed, nice flowers and large trees, with the creek and the ponds, nice for a Sunday stole after buying an ice cream.
