Owner description: Polson Park is located near the heart of Vernon, adjacent to Highway 97 and Highway 6. The park was established in 1908 when Samuel Polson donated a large parcel of land to the city. Located in the park is the Lawn Bowling Club, the Interior Space and Science Centre, the Arts Council and Vernon Heritage Hall.Polson Park is probably best known for the Floral Clock that was installed in 1958. The date is changed daily and it provides a great photo with its colourful background. Further into the park you will find the Japanese Garden, which was donated by the Japanese Community and the Chinese Pagoda, which was donated by the Chinese Community. Both were constructed in 1967 as Centennial Projects. The Rose Garden, a perennial favorite and also a Centennial project, is located in the south east of the park. Specific areas of the park can be reserved for your special event such as weddings, social gatherings and concerts.

Spray park in the summer, big playground year round, walking trails, creek, big gorgeous shady trees (although the playground gets hot). FUN place to go and free!

Really like the new washrooms, stage along with the water park, running track and kids playground. Also has beautiful flowers and greenspace. Great place to hang out during the day. Don't recommend it in the later evening however - not particularly safe.

I have gone here to get school work done as you can walk from the college. I've also gone with my other half to just take a nice stroll. The flowers in the spring and summer are lovely, but it's beautiful any time of year. At night it can get a little sketchy just like any park can, but I've never had any problems. There's a playground and water park for children and a walking/biking path that leads out to the beginning of Coldstream. Also, they've just added a fitness centre which I haven't been able to test out ... yet!
