my daughter and granddaughter rendezvoued in James Bay to have lunch. Now James Bay eateries have a strange quirk that they all (well almost all) close for a siesta between 2pm - 4:30pm so our choice was limited. Bent Mast looked like a nice enough place and a full sitdown venue so naturally we figured a highchair would be available. Ok so we walk onto the grounds noticed smoking section by garbage cans which was ok by us cuz we don't smoke. We went inside to check if child was welcome and she was however inside had a real odd odour like an old bar. The waiter was not very pleasant maybe cuz he was the only one working both inside and out, but there weren't many customers so.... anyway when I came back down my daughter was less then impressed with the attitude of the waiter. She commented that he was not helpful and appeared rather disinterested which is exactly how he appeared to me when we first arrived in the place. We left. Arrogance has no place in the service industry. Not sure I'd give this place another try or not and definately if the tall dark haired waiter is working.

A nice local pub a few blocks away from the Government Building in Menzies Street. Good selection of beers, reasonably priced and OK food (pasta arrabiata was plentiful and spicey). The atmosphere is lively and it has a few tables outside where you can catch the evening sun.

It serves food until midnight on a Friday and Saturday night.

The bent mast is a friendly pub in James Bay with good food and a good selection of beers, including locally brewed offerings. The house wine is not great and often a little old. Stick with the beer.

Food is good. Try the yam fries for a snack.

This is a great place to get a bite to eat. I love that they have games like Trivial Pursuit and Cribbage available to everyone.
