Food was excellent (best on the whole trip!) and it was a delight eating it on the wharf. Nice that they recognized a French accent and communicated in French as well.

We had walked by a few times by this small shack located on the pier (next to a whale watch outfit) and we were amazed by the long queues. So we finally opted into the long queue and, despite a one-hour wait in line, can honestly say that this was the best fish & chips my wife and I had ever enjoyed. It was out of this world. My wife and I took turns in queue (and to hold a seat). This was probably the best meal we enjoyed over a long-weekend stay in Victoria. Just of it!

If you visit Victoria B.C. you must have fish and chips somewhere. Well, look no further than the open air establishment in the inner harbor of Victoria.
Mouth watering fish and chips......huge portions, hot, fresh, delicious. I had the cod. Two pieces is $15.00, two piece halibut is $20 without refreshments. The cod was delicious. I also noticed someone eating a fish taco which looked mouthwatering good. Water is provided to drink and you can buy sodas.
Line ups are long all day so be prepared to wait. The seating is stools along the dock....just great enjoying watching the seaplanes come and go as well as boats and ferries. Such great ambience.
The only criticism might be is that this time my chips were too salty for my taste. The cod, however, was perfect! We never miss this when we are in Victoria.

The answer is....probably not. It's worth trying once but do yourself a favor and go at least one hour before you're hungry. The system for ordering is long and frustrating. The cooks and staff are akin to the food (organic-minded).....think humorless Brooklyn-types with wool stocking caps in summer! If you do last the wait, try the grilled fish and chips (or salad) as the fried fish did look a bit greasy.
