The food was excellent and very creative. The staff was friendly and fun. The live music was a nice surprise. And, the atmosphere couldn't be better!

This is our 2nd visit. 1st: wonderful. We live 100 miles and a 2-hr international ferry crossing from Victoria. Superior Cafe was problably 25% of the reason for our Vctoria trip. Why? excellent and unsual tapas. An affordable restaurant where you regret that you can consume only so much. Evrything we had was cooked just right, gave a sense of the chef's personal hand in your dinner. We were told he has been there 7 years. On our first visit we dined to 2 Spanish guitarists; this time to funky bluegrass guys. Mellow, tolerant atmosphere. Our smiling, un-hurried waitress perfectly managed a large number of tables alone. Interesting clientele. Good, value wines. Our bill smiled at us, and we back! Our Sunday night dinner was at Victoria's # 1 restaurant per TrpAvr. Very good but un-memorable food; hyper wait staff. We may go back there to fill in the night we don't go to Superior.

huge ia We arrived at 8 PM to a half-filled restauant on a Sat nite. Not a good sign! When we left at 9:45, it was filled with people waiting.

Eclectic and artsy in decor (tree growing through the dinner table), music (usually seems to be gypsy jazz), and food ( I can finally get my fill of fig/caramelized onion/ goat cheese flat bread). After a night at the superior I am guaranteed to walk out into the beautiful garden with happy friends and an over full belly.

Love Love Love this restaurant for Sunday Brunch before a nice walk to the Harbour. The ambiance was fantastic. Playing great music - just the right level. Evenings have live local Musicians. The outdoor courtyard is really funky but intimate. Menu selection was just perfect. Our group had Eggs Benedict, Chorizo hash and Grilled cheese and Mimosas. Eggs Benedict was really tasty but not heavy. Chorizo sausage hash- fantastic taste and just the right amount. Grilled cheese sandwich- My husband's staple food-best he has ever tasted!!! the portions were perfect, we were satisfied but not stuffed. I love mimosas with brunch and found these mimosa's a little too juicy. The other dinners not Mimosa fans liked them that way.The staff were really friendly and attentive.

We took our family here in 2008 then again in 2012. Excellent food, very friendly staff, the loveliest tiny, intimate patio, creative drinks and desserts. Although it is very much an adult oriented restaurant, children are welcomed with a big bin of toys to share on the floor by the table. It is bright enough to keep kids comfortable and just loud enough to drown out their noise. We ate here as often as our schedule allowed. If I lived near, I'd be there several times per week.
