Description: Welcome to the Irish Times Pub, where excellent design and authenticity are at the heart of downtown Victoria"s most exciting new pub! Located at 1200 Government Street, the Irish Times Pub is home to 190 seats over two floors with 80 seats available on our patios, opening onto both Government Street and historic Bastion Square. Our concept goes far beyond mere architecture though. The Irish Times opened with everything it takes to make a pub successfully Irish, including authentic Live Irish music, 7 nights each week. The tradition of Ireland has also been extended to our menu, which has been developed on a philosophy of creating traditional Irish food and drink that is both contemporary and funky, showcasing Irish Pub Food as you would see in Ireland today.

“Best Fish and Chips EVER!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2014

Best fish and chips I've ever had and have found only 1 other location in Napa Valley CA that compares...fresh light batter not greasy, fish is fresh and light chips great, atmosphere is fun and lively....unfortunately I don't live in the area to go on a weekly basis. This would be my go favorite place if I was a local...can't wait to go again!

“Beer may be good but wine prices ridiculous”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2014

A good atmosphere, great bread pudding and had excellent service at the bar. Unfortunately won't be revisiting. They serve their wine by 5 or 7 oz measures and charge $15 for a 7 oz glass of Oyster Bay noting this as a higher end wine. Quite over the top for Victoria and quite honestly just as good service, atmosphere and beer and wine at the Swan Brew Pub where a glass of Monkey Bay is $7:50. You do the math that is 100% mark up for like middle of the road wine. Granted located in prime real estate on Government Street could be an excuse for these high prices but it doesn't really hold when you can go the Bengal Lounge at the Empress and pay less for better quality too. Bard and Banker is in the same pub group and charge the same except service not as friendly. Neither will be on my trip list next visit and I will unfortunately have to forego the bread pudding! Lots of great places to visit without being ripped off with wine.

“Nice Flavours in Food and Drink”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2014

The building is really impressive and the location on Government St. right near great shopping. We had lunch of a salad and pizza and both had lovely, delicate flavours. I especially liked the Red Racer IPA (from Langley) on draft. We came back fro poutine which was a very nice bite - but found Friday night at 10:30 to be very different in atmosphere. The Irish band, Black Angus, was very good but there was lots of people and loud talking - and for us older folks it was not our usual scene.

“Nice place for music and a beer, but do not eat here!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2014

I often go to this pub for beer and live music. It is a nice place, the live music is usually good and the servers do an adequate job. It is really more a bar than a pub though, because of the food quality. I have given it a couple of shots and it is definitely not worth eating here.
Last time I had the bangers and mash, which consisted of a couple of tasteless sausage links accompanied by mashed potatoes that were clearly out of a box. I expect something more for 20 dollars. My wife had the shepherd's pie and was equally disappointed: It looked like sloppy joe topped with the same disgusting mashed potatoes.
Overall, a nice place to get a drink but definitely not an irish-style pub as far as food quality and pricing are concerned.

“"GOOD" Times Pub!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2014

We met friends at this lively Irish Pub for a few drinks on a Friday evening! We had an interesting time in this very high energy establishment. You can enjoy the live band & eat, drink to your hearts content. The staff are friendly & very attentive, as the seating area are located at several different levels and if desire you can also reserve a table for special occasions.
