Great view, even in wet, windy weather. We started out to find a breakfast place downtown. Tried a couple - menus did not appeal. Thought Vista 18 would be much more expensive. Turned out to be on a par with street restaurants with great service, excellent food and never empty coffee cup!

We visited the lounge on a weekday night and couldn't be more impressed by the view and great service. The hostess was extremely friendly and pointed out a great table in the lower area of the lounge that had an amazing view. Our waiter, Paul, had good suggestions about appetizers and wine selections. He was attentive and checked back with us at appropriate intervals. The edamame appetizer we had was delicious (not the average - it had a unique seasoning that made it special) and the wine selection by the glass was very good.

Paul went out of his way to make our experience enjoyable and had good suggestions for live music venues when we asked about entertainment. We followed up on his ideas and had a wonderful evening the following night listening to a jazz singer. The people we've met in Victoria have always been so friendly and Paul was definitely one of the people there who made our trip so wonderful. Thank you Paul and everyone at the Vista 18.

The view is only great from the private areas and from one point in the main dining area where there are 2 tables. While the waiter was good, the food was not worth the price. The brie appetizer was poorly staged and was a very small portion of brie. I had the lamb two ways for dinner and the shepherd's pie was nearly inedible. Its like there's a young chef there that thinks he's creating something better than it actually is. Big disappointment.

Located minutes from Farimont and Marriott hotels in Victoria. This is a great place to drop by for a meal or drink. Great view. I had a meeting with an associate and food was exceptional. In the busy season I would recommend a reservation.

We checked out the menu early in the day and decided to come back and were not disappointed. We had the 3 tasting menu items. I had the ultra rare scallops seared to perfection, the prawns and greens. Each was a tasting delight. We finished up with several desserts, but the creme brulee was the best! Our server, Jay, couldn't have been better. He didn't rush us, explained the dishes well and had perfect timing. All with a view!
