I have loved this place since it was a hidden gem in an abandoned rail yard.
The area has really improved and the sea walk from downtown is wonderful, the 20 minute walk is a great appetite improver. The food remains the same.
The place was busy and a little noisy but that goes with the territory.
I cannot say enough about how great the staff were.
We had a wonderful plate of local cheeses and seafood chowder for appetizers. They mistakenly brought vegetable soup, apologized, and left it with us to try along with the fresh chowder. The soups were all really good.
For entree had halibut fish and chips which seemed a bit out of place since the downstairs is a bit upscale now. The fish was good and the fries and cole slaw was really good.
Similarly we couldn't decide on a beer and ordered samplers. The poor staff were so patient, but it was well worth it to try all the different beers.
It was really nice to see the local beers and food.
I hope it will still be there in another 25 years.

Spinnakers is great walk from downtown Victoria along the harbour seawall. Well worth the 20 minutes stroll for either lunch or dinner for tasty craft beer and excellent food all from local producers. We had a delicious thin crust mushrooms pizza and the local greens salad after tasting a flight of craft beer.

Spinakers is first and foremost a brew pub. Sitting on the inner harbor in victoria is is a great place to visit. The beer is absolutely superb! The food is good. not great but again this is a brew pub and the food is supposed to compliment the beer. Not be the focal point.

The parking is very limited and the crowding goes from there. All the hype about this place I was expecting a wonderful dining experience. It was average. I ordered the hallibut and chips. it has a beer batter coating that they advertise since they are a brew house. I found it tasted a lot like pancake batter and it was very heavy. Since I love tempura batter this was not to my liking and could be considered a personal preference... however... I am not sure if it was because of the thick batter but the hallibut was very dry inside as though over cooked. It was as though it was previously frozen but we were told it was fresh. the mushroom Pizza was nice and the cheese on it great. We ordered the fruit crisp dessert... it comes with a small scoop of very nice ice cream but the crisp tasted like a handful of dry granola was tossed on top of microwaved apples... I suggest ordering the cheese cake... it looked lovely! the service was good...atmosphere very loud as the place was crammed full and it was hard to hear the table conversation. They were attentive about food allergies. Average pricing but mostly you are paying for the view.

If it wasn't for the great location, and early entry into the craft beer market, this place should be forgotten. Small portions of food, and as I mentioned in the title, poor beer. There's far better out there, and it's easy to find these days.
