“Great Location ... Loud and Busy!”

Great location overlooking Victoria´s Inner Harbour ... limited outdoor seating - busy, buzzing and loud! Not for a quiet evening ... but great selection of wines and beers!

“A great place to relax and enjoy Victoria Harbour”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

Spinnaker's has a great location on the west side of Victoria Harbour, with a good view from the back patio. Being a brewpub, it only naturally has a good selection of micro beers, of which we tried a few. it also features a good selection of dishes, including some different and intriguing ones. I enjoyed their take on a 'BLT', while others in our party enjoyed their pizza and salad. it's a great place to spend a few hours on a nice summer afternoon! (for some reason, TripAdvisor has categorized Spinnaker's as an attraction, not a restaurant, so I couldn't leave the normal ratings)

“One time is enough”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

I will never go back here again. Walking through the front doors is a nightmare-on the busy night we visited, everyone was huddling around the front door/shop/hostess, with lack of seating for patrons on the waitlist. The store is confusing too. It sells vinegars and other handmade products, but the labels are poor, sticky, glued on or something? Jelly is oozing out some sides, clearly not a widely sourced product. Bread is good, but for the expensive prices, I would prefer to go to elsewhere. I highly recommend the truffles though! Tried the Salt Lick, and each one is beautifully crafted. The restaurant was a disgrace. Very small spaces to navigate through, I was hitting chairs with those behind me, and when the hostess moves tables to accommodate larger groups, it is distracting and loud. I got the pub pie, my friends got a fish fettucine? as well as the beef burger, which all seemed to be enjoyed-but my vegan friend was shocked at the practically non-existent options. (Menu is far too pretentious, by the way. Stuck-up menu descriptions followed by otherwise un-inspired, lazy dishes.) The decor is beautiful, but I feel this is all that the place has going for it. The location and decor are great, but food, friendliness, and professional appearance are a disgrace. Servers are making due for being seemingly short-staffed and incredibly busy, which I understand. But that front desk situation with the random chaos of various things also acting as a check-in counter is confusing and inefficient, especially for the busy night we visited. The open-kitchen is also odd. We don't want to hear all the banging of pots plus a bossy chef yelling out. I Wouldn't go back, and wish I could transplant The Local or one of the other great places in town in Spinnakers' place. Owner-get with the program! A much needed update and course on how to be happy in your own workplace is needed. Judging by some bad reviews though...I'm not the only one who feels this way?

“Great beer, food, location and service”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

We have come to the pub every time when we are in Victoria for last 14years and it is always a great experience. We generally take a water taxi from inner harbor and then take the short scenic walk to the restaurant but you can also drive to the pub.
Beer is excellent. Not only they have few varieties the brew but the also have many other local beers on tap. Food is farm to table fresh and expertly cooked. I don't like over cooked fish, my salmon was cooked to perfect pink in the center, melt in your mouth good. Tonight's sorbet and ice-cream flavored were bit odd, apple sorbet, sour cream ice cream but tasted ok.
Overall, it is a great place to eat and sip
