We walked across the draw bridge and along the harbor path to Spinnakers for lunch. Easy walk, great views of the harbor on the way and good food at the end. Got a table outside and had a very enjoyable lunch. Would have gone back for dinner if we had another few days in Victoria. Spinnakers is a brewery with a first class restaurant. I'd highly recommend it if you want to get away from the core of the inner harbor for a little bit.

Spinnaker's is our go-to pub for lunch on a warm sunny day. And on a cloudy day. Oh, and we also go when it's raining. Why? The food and beer! Locally sourced ingredients remind you of what veggies really taste like (compared to supermaket fare). Just eating a salad of island greens is a revelation about how many different flavours occur in eatable salad greens! The BLT on special today had beautiful tomatoes and yummy island bacon. And of course, Spinnaker's offers an extensive array of local brews.

So on a sunny day, sit outside and enjoy watching the boats and float planes going in and out of the harbour. On a rainy day, sit inside surrounded by the warmth of aged oak and watch the chefs at work in the show kitchen. And I dare you to walk by the case of handmade truffles on your way out, without buying a few to take home!

Staying at the guesthouse we decided on the short walk to the pub. We were seated inside beside a window at a table for two. There were flies on the window beside us, and we quickly realized that there was one person serving the whole restaurant. The service was good despite the fact that he seemed to be running in three directions at once. The food was 'okay' but portions were far from generous. Like the guesthouse we failed to see the value for our dollar.
