“Not to be missed”

Come hungry and willing to go veggie!Perfect for lunch, the papa fritas were a meal on their own and the 3 sisters tortillas were awesome with plenty of fresh, well mixed ingredients. The Roy Roger smoothie was refreshing for a tired, hungry tourist. If you eat anywhere in Victoria make it here though keep in mind this is a very popular place so be prepared to wait. Enjoy!

“So Delicious”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

We became hungry as we were wondering around Victoria. It was a bit early for lunch and this restaurant was not yet full so we went in. I had the smoked salmon and sweet potato salad which was amazing. It was very large, the salmon was so smoky and I just love yams and avacado so I was very happy. The service was good. I often eat here when in Victoria and have never been disappointed.

“Worth repeating - 2 days in a row!”
Reviewed July 12, 2013 via mobile

As a visitor to Victoria a couple of years ago, I was looking forward to going to Rebar. With high expectations, I was not disappointed!
If you enjoy salads, I would recommend the salad sampler - your choice of 2 salads from a tempting selection. Imaginative compositions, well beyond the expected ingredients; savoury light dressings.
Cheerful, attentive service and reasonable cost.
A great place to eat alone or with a friend.

“Delicious and great value too”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

A couple of days ago I took my adult children for dinner at Rebar and we all enjoyed our choices immensely. The salads, main dishes, smoothies and desserts were all local, freshly prepared and flawless in taste and presentation. The service was excellent too. I can't see how anyone can go wrong by eating here.

“Healthier food with some flavor”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

The atmosphere at Rebar is sort of like a schizophrenic hippie state, if you can imagine that. Smoothies are the mode du jour and they all looked fantastic. We did not partake in those however. I had a delicious Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon, which needed some air before it really turned into something good.

We had the steamed (fried) wontons, which would have been so much better had they just been steamed and not fried. The fish tacos were good. The coleslaw did not have too much mayonnaise and there was just a small blob of guacamole on one of them - not sure what the other did to miss out on that extra touch. The rice and beans that came with it were nothing out of the ordinary, but overall it felt pretty healthy.

The fruit crumble for dessert was a disappointment, more crumble than fruit, which is the wrong direction to go with a fruit crumble. It's all abut the fruit and should have just a smidgeon of crumble.

The after-dinner coffee was excellent: hard to go wrong with Cafe Umbria coffee, unless it's made too weak, which this one wasn't.

All-in-all, we'd probably come back, when we're next in Victoria.
