First night in Victoria and our accommodation hosts recommended Cafe Brio. This recommendation was well deserved. Where to start, the welcome was warm, the table host was knowledgeable about how the dishes were cooked, the service was attentive but not oppressive. We had the Salmon dish and the lamb dish. The salmon was perfectly cooked to our requirements, nicely done all the way through, with a delicate browning on the top. Every day the lamb dish is cooked a different way. On our visit it was a combination of slow cooked leg with a pan fired piece of shoulder carved on top, served with new potatoes. The combination of these two ways of cooking lamb complimented each other to provide the perfect dish.
Another plus point is the ability to have half portions. Ideal if you have a small appetite or wish to try the desert side of the menu. However after a tiring day travelling we decided to forego the desserts.
