Located in the fisherman’s wharf portion of the innner harbour, Barb’s is one of, and proportedly the best, fish and chips in Victoria. The wharf area makes for a nice walk from downtown and has other restaurants and small shops worth visiting too.

The atmosphere at Barb's is usually all about hussle and bussle as I always seem to get the hankering for Fish & Chips at the same time everyone else does. Sometimes finding a place to sit can be a challenge as parking can be but the food is just that good that ya don't care about the challenges. I always tell myself I'll go at a less busy time but since it's usually busy when I go I obviously don't know when that might be. I really enjoy looking at the houseboats and waterfront when chowing down.

Barb's has been around for ages offering delicious and very fresh fish with chips, coleslaw in a variety of choices. Love their fries and coleslaw.....We have gone with young kids and still go years later as a local favourite.

So glad to read that you enjoy our efforts and the ambience of Fisherman's Wharf.

We source nice 40-60 pound halibut fish which we fillet in our kitchen together with wild sockeye salmon for our salmon meals. Our goal is to make the freshest food we can and it is always nice to hear that it is appreciated. We look forward to seeing you in the spring, late March, when we open for year #29. Best wishes for a festive holiday season.

OK. so first this is an outdoor fish and chip shop on a floating wharf. the good points are fresh fish Halibut and Haddock cooked to order in batter " fish shop style " , you pay and then are given a pager which buzzes when the fish is ready. It is a tourist must do and you will visit the Wharf while you are in Victoria. The fish is fresh and very good the chips are not so good ( but I'm from the North of England the spiritual home of real fish and chips). There are no reserved tables just pick somewhere in the communal seating outside eat you dinner and watch the world go by. So with this and a couple of Indian restaurants in town, and Englishman working in Victoria for a while has a home from home :-)

Very neat seafood restaurant right in the harbor. Really good fish and chips. Be prepared for long lines ups but it is worth the wait. Definitely a restaurant to visit on your trip to Victoria.

Good Morning:

Glad to hear that you enjoy our floating corner of Fisherman's Wharf. Next year we start our 29th year and we hope to see you back again. We are working to shorten the wait time and will have new pagers in 2013 to let you know when your food is ready. Seasons greetings!
