We booked the Zodiac whale watching tour. We were in the water for little over three hours. We only had one airing of a hump back eagle that was farther away so the company gave us a free pass for another tour. Very professional service. Captain of the boat was very knowledgeable of the area, marine life, etc. Highly recommend taking this tour and can’t wait to rebook.

My sister and I had a great time on yesterday's half-day adventure from Victoria! The boat was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and best of all we got pretty close (but not too close!) to a pod of transient orcas, following them for a good 20 minutes at least. We got a much better view than I was expecting!

Hats, gloves, and blankets are provided, which was good because it gets quite windy as soon as you leave Victoria's Inner Harbour. Complimentary drinks were also a nice touch, although a free snack would have been nice. Only real complaint is that the brand new catamaran boat we were on had some propeller trouble mid-way through, and was stalled for about 15 minutes. To make up for lost time we headed right back to Victoria, and missed out on viewing some other marine wildlife. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed in the future.

Hi Nicholas,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. We really appreciate it and are so glad you got to see a pod of transients too!

The reason why the boat stalled was because we had to flush the jets from seaweed. This occurs in order to back flush the jets from debris getting stuck and wasn't a fault of the boat.

Thank you for your feedback and we hope you will join us on another tour in future!

I bought this combination tour as a gift to my girlfriend. She had never been whale watching from a boat or visited the Butchart Gardens. Based on reviews, we thought this was a great pairing and it blew away our expectations. The staff was friendly, approachable, and genuinely knowledgeable about the whales and other sea animals that we would likely encounter. The captain was communicative and set expectations well. When we encountered orcas, he stayed a respectful distance from them but also allowed tour patrons to see wildlife in their habitat. While stationary in the water, the pod we were observing swam right in front of the bow and gave us a close-up view! We then arrived at a private boat dock at the Butchart Gardens and closed out a delightful day. We really felt like it was the perfect balance of time split between sea and land. All of the staff on our tour - MacKenzie, Shawn, Patrick, and Captain Chris are excellent stewards and fantastic at creating a memorable experience.

Yesterday afternoon we left the dock at 5 PM for a sunset tour to head north up Haro Strait to see a beautiful mother humpback with her new calf. The viewing was spectacular! It was my first time on the Salish Sea Eclipse, Prince of Whales latest addition to their impressive fleet. 85' LOA, 95 Passengers and 5 crew and stunning viewing decks no matter where you are on board. Even though we were at full or almost full capacity, the vessel still feels spacious with lots of room to move around.. This sleek, 4 engine, jet boat whisks their passengers off at cruising speed of 30 knots in total comfort. Inside the main cabin are deck to ceiling windows for fantastic visibility. The cabin is climate controlled with a refreshments bar and comfortable seating and tables. 2 spacious heads are easily accessible. Now for the crew! Lilli Wilson was outstanding! Deck Lead and Naturalist extraordinaire! Not only did she run through an entertaining and informative safety briefing and vessel overview, her knowledge of the area and the marine environment with all of its wondrous creatures left us all feeling like we learned something new every time she pointed something out. Captain Bill and First Mate Joe commanded the vessel with skill and made sure that all on board had a fantastic viewing opportunity. Thank you again for such a lovely evening out on the water. I'd give 10 stars if I could... instead a nice fat, well deserved, tip for the crew to share for a job well done had to do.

Hi Andrea,

Wow thank you so much for your glowing review. Reviews like yours truly make our day. The sunset tours are one of our favourite adventures so we are delighted you had the opportunity to cruise through the Salish Sea and observe the beauty of British Columbia in its amazing light.

We are super proud of our brand new catamaran, the Salish Sea Eclipse. It certainly gives ''immersive experience'' a whole new meaning :)

Thank you also for your kind comments about our staff. They truly have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to whale and marine wildlife and are very passionate about what they do. We would love to have you join us on another tour in future!

Prince of Whales Whale Watching and Captain Rush were fantastic! We were on a trip with a group of Grade 7 students (very difficult to impress) and the experience captivated them from beginning to end.

Captain Rush was knowledgeable, attentive and fun; he really knew his audience. The office staff were very helpful and friendly and got us out to the boat quickly.

Getting to see a pod of Orcas, sea lions, seals and otters was a highlight of our trip to Victoria.

We had a nice, calm day and taking pictures with cameras and phones was easy. On a windier/rougher day, it may be difficult and equipment may get wet or damaged.
