i spent about a month at this hotel. There is a fine line between staff that are professional and friendly, and just professional and cold. And the difference is often the manager of the hotel.
I remember staying at the four seasons in Vancouver and asking who the manager was. Because the service was the best.
The staff here are professional. Like a judge that pronounces a verdict and walks away like it means nothing. So cold.
The best part of this hotel is the cleaning staff. This place is one of the cleanest I have seen, and talking to the cleaning staff is pleasant and professional. This is a case where the manager can learn from the people who clean the hotel.

Our apologies that you found the staff 'cold and unfriendly' during your stay with us. In your review you unfortunately do not state why you found the staff were like this except stating that it was to do with the manager.

Our team work hard on the guest experience as stated in many of our other positive reviews on this site. This is the case in all areas and not just housekeeping.

If you would like to share further your thoughts on your assumptions of management, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Its frustrating when guests leave and we are not aware of any issues during their stay to be given the chance to try and rectify them whilst they are with us.

My husband and I spent one night at the Oswego Hotel, and we loved it! The staff were excellent. The live jazz entertainment in the lounge was incredible. Thank you Edie and John! We loved our fully stocked super clean studio apartment. The hotel is a few blocks from downtown Victoria, and a few blocks from Thrifty Foods. We were able to save some money by cooking our own dinner.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 504 and had a nice view of the city.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you for taking the time to write a positive review about your stay.

We do have jazz every Wednesday night and a lot of our regular guests really enjoy this. Edie and John are regular artists with us.

We look forward to welcoming you back to stay with us again soon.

We stayed at the Oswego for two nights in October. Our one bedroom studio with a full kitchen was spacious and immaculate. Furnishings are top notch and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. They clearly take customer service seriously. The location is convenient to downtown Victoria. My wife and I will return to the Oswego on our next visit to Victoria.

Absolutely spot-on hotel in Victoria! We had a 2-bedroom suite and brought our dog. The suite had great large balcony, wonderful bedrooms and spacious bathrooms. The kitchen made eating in for some meals a perfect option.

Don't hesitate to bring your well-behaved dog. Ours loved the hotel, though her first ride in the elevator was an adventure! The area around the hotel is a neat mixture of small hotels and residential. Just a different feel from staying nearer The Empress for example. The hotel staff were exceptional and helpful with all of our questions. I have found our forever Victoria hotel!

Stayed three nights in a one bedroom suite. It was perfect! I loved the modern vibe and clean decor. Full kitchen with everything we needed. Great tasting free trade coffee and french press. Great balcony off the bedroom too! Nice lounge at the hotel, and we got to partake in their jazz night on the Wednesday. Talented young singer with a piano guy and tuba player.. so nice!
When we come back to Victoria, we'll for sure stay here!
