“Loved this beautiful Boutique Hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2012

My husband and I travelled from Edmonton to Victoria for our 35th wedding anniversary and stayed at the Oswego. It's a lovely, modern boutique hotel which is close to everything that matters! It's walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf, the Royal B.C. Museum, the Inner Harbour and Downtown Victoria, just to mention a few things. We arrived in the morning and although check-in time is at 3:00 we were able to park our car in the underground parking garage and wander off to explore the nearby sites until our room was ready (they called our cell phone when it was ready for us to check-in). The staff was so accommodating, attentive and friendly; there was nothing they wouldn't do to make you feel comfortable and happy :) When we walked into our one-bedroom condo-style room, the stereo was playing soft music - very welcoming. The room was spacious and had great modern decor. The kitchen had stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, the bed was comfortable, the balcony was spacious. The bathroom was large with a separate shower and bathtub; bathrobes were supplied. We enjoyed the food and the ambiance in the O Bistro Restaurant and Lounge. At check-out time, we were again permitted to leave our vehicle in the parking garage until we were ready to leave Victoria. We would highly recommend the Oswego to anyone travelling on business, with a family, or as a romantic couples vacation.

We hope that you come back and visit us again soon.

Our anniversary celebration and meeting a college friend brought us to Victoria for another great, but short visit. Oswego opened around 2005 - and our first stay was shortly after that. We have been back for a birthday celebration and another visit making this our 4th stay in the last few years. The quality of the staff, the physical condition of the hotel, how the rooms are presented, and the restaurant have kept their high level. During our prior visit the restaurant was under renovation. The restaurant is quite functional now and we found the food and service quite to our liking. These folks know how to make a stay enjoyable. We ate two breakfasts and one lunch in two days. We stayed in June, 2012.

I live in Victoria and discovered this hotel a few years ago for a birthday getaway, and to this day I am so glad I found this gem. Not only is it located in a prime location, a few steps away from Victoria's Inner Harbour, but it's pet friendly. No funny restrictions and the pet fees don't cost an arm and a leg like most places. On top of being pet friendly, the place is spotless and really modern. I've only ever stayed in the one bedroom suites, I love them, you could live there! It's just like a condo with a fully equipped kitchen. They also leave a card and treats for your pets upon check-in, nice little touches like that make the customer service top notch. I haven't dealt with the staff a whole bunch when staying here as we spend most of our time in the room, but any encounters or phone calls we have had, the staff have been amazing. I highly recommend this place. Oh and did I mention their rates are VERY reasonably for what you get!! Cheaper than some hotel ROOMS around the area. They are also really great about giving deals. If I had to say something bad about the hotel...and I am really stretching here...I guess the couch in the living room could be a bit more comfortable, the cushions slip out easily sometimes :)

Room Tip: From my experiences the one bedroom suites are all the same, but a layout I prefer is the island sty...

The Oswega was special from the moment we walked in through the door. The young staff were very friendly and helpful giving us lots of good advice on what to do during our all too brief stay in Victoria. The suite had a kitchenette and separate bedroom which was very modern. Everything was perfect. Even the apples in our room looked like they had been polished. Our only mistake was not staying here for longer.

The Oswego hotel proved to be an excellent choice! It was affordable, close to the Clipper terminal, and so much more! We've been to Victoria many times before, but this is the best hotel we've stayed so far (and yes we've been to the Fairmont, etc.) We particularly liked how the suites are furnished, with clean and modern design. The bed was especially comfortable with crisp linen. Loved the coffee press and fair trade coffee. Nice touch! Also, having a separate shower and bath tub was awesome. No cheesy shower curtain, but glass surrounding with easy access door. Our room was on the 8th floor with fantastic view. It was amazing how quiet the room was, no AC or elevator noise, etc.
We will definitely come back!!

Room Tip: Try higher floors. The views are worth it.

Thank you for your wonderful review about your stay with us.

We are one of the few closest hotels to the Clipper terminal and lots of our guests enjoy the Clipper and short stroll to the hotel on arrival to Victoria. We work closely with the Clipper team to ensure their guests are looked after.

The team at the Oswego work hard together to provide a great guest experience. We believe in 'giving back' and do little things like 'fair trade coffee' recycled paper, recycling and composting programs and clean the world amenity programs - to name but a few.

We hope that you will now consider the Oswego your home away from home when visiting Victoria and we look forward to welcoming you back to stay in the not to distant future.

Thank you!

We stayed at The Oswego Hotel in a standard one-bedroom suite from May 30 to June 1, 2012. We disembarked from the Coho Black Ball Ferry and (even though we had a vehicle) we were within two blocks’ walking distance to the hotel. When we arrived, we were greeted graciously by the reception staff and our check-in was flawless. Upon entering the suite, we were pleasantly surprised by the contemporary décor and layout. The kitchen had everything one could desire and even included a coffee press with coffee to brew that was superb.

We were extremely pleased with our distance to and from downtown Victoria – an easy walk for any pedestrian’s delight.

When we return to Victoria (AND WE WILL), The Oswego Hotel will be where we would not hesitate to stay again.

Happy 5-Year Anniversary tomorrow (June 15, 2012)!

Room Tip: Our room was included with the Coho Black Ball Ferry package departing from Port Angeles, WA and we...
