We loved our stay in Marketa's B&B. The house is gorgeous, staff super friendly. Marketa is a great host who makes you to feel like at home. You can admire Marketa's fantastic paintings on the walls of the hallway and living room. We had everything we needed and had absolutely no complains.
Finally, the breakfast was as delicious as it was beautiful! Marketa is not only a great cook but you can tell she is an artist when you see your breakfast! Moreover, you may pick your breakfast from the menu (3 different options). In addition to the breakfast you get fresh OJ and tea or an awesome coffee. We also got the muffins that Marketa bakes every day for her guests. She chooses different fruits in her muffins every day. Seriously - we have never had such delicious muffins!
It is a walking distance to all the major attractions.
We got a room in the garden apartment. Initially, I was wondering if we will like it.. It was great! We had our own private outdoor area with two chairs and a little table.
When we stayed there the house was full so book in advance!
(even though the house was full it was very quiet!)

My spouse and I recently vacationed in the beautiful city of Victoria, BC, Canada. When planning our trip, we searched for B&Bs in Victoria. we luckily found Marketa's Bed and Breakfast and what a magical find it was! Marketa is delightful and her staff very friendly. Mr. T, Marketa's small dog, greeted us almost every afternoon.
Our room was filled with antiques and the sun came in through the window that looked out onto a patio filled with beautiful containers of flowers and herbs.
The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the shower had great pressure.
The best part (other than Marketa, Mr. T and staff) were the amazing gourmet breakfasts that we enjoyed. Marketa uses items that she grew herself or bought from a local farmer's market. The food was not only delicious but looked like works of art, not surprising since Marketa is an artist.
Marketa's is located within very easy walking distance to the Harbor, Empress Hotel, Government Street, the Museum, and many restaurants (for lunch and dinner).
We highly recommend Marketa's Bed and Breakfast in Victoria, BC, Canada.

The first intention of the b&b wasn't the best...cause everything seemd old and it also smelled a bit old...but on the second view it was really nice, cause everything fit together and it just looked like you went back in time to the 1914, when the house was build. It was really nice to be here, cause Marketa and her Staff were realy friendly and the breakfast was gorgeaous. We had to choose from around 5 different dishes, which were freshmade and really tastefull, it was a pleasure for us to stay here. We also decidet to stay a night longer here than planned.

We stayed at Marketa's for my wife's birthday. They even prepared a birthday breakfast for my wife. The breakfasts were great, colorful and delicious. The staff was extremely helpful, accommodating and always happy and cheerful. We stayed in the two rooms without an in room bath, but our friends were across the hall and timing was not a problem. I especially liked the sitting room where we gathered in the morning and evening to chat and share some of Marketa's delicious muffins which were different each day. The B&B is close to the attractions in Victoria and for locations further way, a bus stop is 2 blocks away. We came up from Seattle on the Clipper and walked to the B&B. We would come back.

The location is very central and everything is in walking distance. The rooms are very nice, the service and breakfast were great. We had the honeymoon suite and were really satisfied. This B&B offers a great value for a lower price, so we can really recommend it!

This was the best choice we could have made! We arrived mid afternoon ot be greeted with the last of the fresh baked muffins, and some coffee. Marketa immediately made us welcome, and gave us some ideas for some visits and for an evening bistro. We rested in our period-furnished room in this Edwardian house of 1911, set in the leafy suburb of St James, not 15 mins walk from the harbour, BC museum and all the downtown attractions. The house also boasts a comfortable lounge filled with rich fabrics and original art of good quality.
Breakfast the next day was of excellent quality - how could this be better? A choice of six courses, each decorated with a variety of fruits. Described accurately as a Gourmet breakfast, this was both delicious and healthy!! Marketa gave us great advice on places of interests to suit our tastes, and we enjoyed a perfect day of activities. When we had to depart, we were able to stay in the lounge until our bus was due, relaxing and writing our journal.
Marketas B&B is homely and welcoming, and presented in a rich European style of arty decor - including plush four poster beds. Staying here was the most important choice of our visit, and meant that we had a comfortable and welcoming base from which to Explore Victoria, with good advice and help thrown in. The map Marketa gave us even had the B&B located on it for good measure!
We enjoyed local walks, resteraunts and museum visits all on her recommendation. If you want a trip to remember, thern a stay at Marketas will be unique and unforgettable.

This was my first bed and breakfast experience, and I'll be sure to have more as a result. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, with the food being a real standout. I wanted to stay there a few extras days just so I could try everything on the breakfast menu. Reading through the old log books from previous guests was a treat, and you'll find that everyone raves about the muffins, with good reason.

The location is very quiet, and just a short walk to downtown Victoria. I really have nothing but the best things to say about this place. Check it out if you get the chance.
