After a week of travel -train and motor coach- through the Canadian Rockies we arrived to Victoria ready for a change of pace. That is what Albion Manor provided. Great location (within walking distance of the harbor and downtown) great accommodations, the greatest breakfast any B&B can provide and the best two hosts you will ever find. Fernando and Don made our visit to Vancouver Island a memorable one. Sevillian warmth and northamerican efficiency make for an unbeattable combination. One of the things we appreciated most was the way in which they twicked their schedule to satisfy not only ours but other guests needs. This we have never encountered in other B&B's we have visited. The building the Manor occupies is a beatifully restored Victorian home located on a quiet street with public transportation a block away. Fernado's original artwork is diplayed throughout the Manor. If you have the time to read there is a nice collection of books, both English and Spanish. This old saying applies to Albion Manor "Try It You Will Like It."

My husband and I just spent 2 luxurious nights at the Albion Manor. Don and Fernando are the most wonderful hosts! Our kingsize room with its private entrance is the BEST in the house. And the breakfasts just delightful! If you want to be pampered and love interesting antiques and artwork, this B & B is for you. They made us feel like we were at home. When we return to Victoria, we will be sure to stay there again.

then this is the place for you. What a hoot we had here! This is not your regular B&B. This beautiful old house has lots of charm. there are 8 rooms and we were able to see 6 of them over the course of our stay. They were all lovely, all stocked full of interesting things to look at. Rooms 5-8 are upstairs. Rooms 1-4 are below. These are too dark for me We stayed in room 7 and it was perfect. It had a queen bed and a lovely deck off our room. The bathroom was to die for with a huge window looking out into big fruit trees. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was 3 courses and we felt very spoiled. By the time I left I felt like I had been to some exotic land.

The only improvement I would have liked was comfortable sitting room in the yard. The yard was wild and unkept and it would have been nice to experience it in it's full glory.

Albion Manor Bed and Breakfast
Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, North America

A Wonderful Bed and Breakfast, Albion Manor
The manor provides all the services and more that you would want. The owners, Don and Fernando, are warm, wonderful people who provide excellent service and an environment that was peaceful and restful,
You can tell from the restoration work that Don and Fernando have done that they have put their heart and soul into it. The attention to detail, the quality of the rooms and the appointments in each, and the whimsy of Fernando's art work provide a wonderful, restful place for the weary traveler to stay after a day of touring aound Victoria. In addition, the evening conversations when we came back to the Manor, were spirited and enlightening, as we were able to share our experiences and backgrounds with two gentlemen who had done extensive traveling before coming to Victoria!!!
Also, let me not forget to mention their unique way of starting the day. The breadfasts that Don created were magnificent, and created a solid foundation for the day.
In closing, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Albion Manor and look forward to returning in the future.

From the moment we arrived, we were taken with the charming and accommodating nature of our hosts, the eclectic art, and the lovely surroundings.
The gardens and exterior are colorful and beautifully maintained. Each room has its own inviting patio or garden and unique en suite bathroom. Furnishings are antique but the art which made it a feast for the eyes was a mix of classical, worldly, inspired and imaginative as one of the hosts is a professional artist with a delightful sense of humor and a discerning eye on the world.
The gourmet breakfasts were some of the most elegant and memorable meals we've had on three continents. The hosts were flexible, informative, and helpful, especially after two ferries broke down. They offered to help us find other accommodations until a cancellation allowed us to stay with them another delightful night! Don and Fernando are articulate and infinitely approachable.
From 1500 miles away, we are planning our next visit...

We only were able to stay one night and it broke our hearts! Don and Fernando are perfect hosts. We immediately felt welcomed into their home. The rooms are all so beautiful and very comfortable. The breakfast was gourmet, with a beautiful presentation and wonderful conversation.
We were able to visit with the hosts and found them to be fascinating, with wonderful stories to share, and eager to talk about their experiences renovating as well as their world travels.
There is art work everywhere you turn. Originals by the hosts themselves as well as a few other well known names. Be sure to ask about their collection.
The location is perfect. You are within walking distance to so much. Go and stay and stay and stay. We highly recommend you choose Albion Manor if you are planning a trip to Victoria. It will help to make it a trip to remember.

Our week at Ryan's Bed & Breakfast (Albion Manor) was all we had hoped. The beds were very comforable and provided the most restful sleep we had had in many weeks. The guest house provided privacy and at breakfast we met the other guests and shared our adventures in Victoria. Don and Fernando were very attentive without being intrusive. They paid attention to our dietary restrictions and each breakfast was very tasty and unique. Breakfast was so filling that we skipped lunch most of the week. Their suggestions for diner were excellent and offered a wide price range. The location was very good and close to many major attractions. I am sure we will return on our next visit to Victoria.
