Don and Fernando were gracious and accommodating hosts. The breakfast was divine, and the rooms were comfortable and quiet. It's a nice walk between the inn and downtown Victoria.

I had reserved for 6 months a room with kitchen for more privacy We were very disappointed to see that we had a very little room without kitchen and no possibilities to change.
I was waiting for a commercial reduction in the end. But in fact, they tried to make us pay the same price as the big room and we had to ask for a reduction.
It was not correct at all !!! A very unpleasant experience !!!
As for the ceremonial breakfast, we didn't like at all !!!

We work really hard to ensure that all guests have a wonderful experience when they stay with us. We love our work and love to meet the guests who come to stay with us. We are not mean, vindictive, calculating people. It wouldn’t make sense, mentally, financially, emotionally, to consciously try to give our guests a bad experience. Sometimes though, even with the best intentions, things don’t work out as you had planned. Even so, this review is remarkably unfair. When these guests (three of them) booked, they never at any time mentioned that they wanted a kitchenette. A kitchenette was never discussed. In fact, extremely rare are the guests who visit us, especially from Europe, who come all this way so they can cook for themselves. These guests reserved a room that had a queen bed and a single roll-away. When we had a cancellation in a larger room that had a queen bed and a double hide-a-bed, we thought we would be doing them a favour by moving them to the larger room with better beds. When they arrived and expressed their disappointment at not having a kitchen, though taken aback, we apologized profusely and explained why we had moved them. (We couldn’t move them back because the other room was subsequently rented to other guests.) They were very gracious about it and said they understood and that it was not a problem. They then spent 2 days enjoying the house and the garden and eating every bite of the breakfast. Then this review… some things you just can’t understand. It sure takes the wind out of your sails I can tell you. But we will continue to strive to give all of our guests the best bed and breakfast experience possible. In 99.9% of the cases, we succeed.

Albion Manor Bed and Breakfast Inn is an easy walk to City Centre for shops, restaurants and the waterfront. This 1890’s B&B is meticulously furnished complete with brilliant displays of summer flowers. Gracious hosts Fernando and Don provide a unique home that is both comfortable and welcoming. The neighborhood is quiet and clean. The breakfast is a discriminating traveler’s dream. Our next overnight in Victoria will certainly include a return visit to Albion Manor.

Stayed in this B& B for 2 nights in June. The accommodation was very spacious and the hosts welcoming. It was situated close to the centre of town. Our only criticism was the formality and content of the " gourmet " breakfast, which did not suit us at all. Call me old fashioned, but I do not want apple crumble souffle with sausages for breakfast, while sitting with 10 people who are all unsure about when to start eating their breakfast ( should they wait until everyone has been served ? etc etc ). It makes for a very unnerving start to the day. BUT some people like this.

We would not return because of this, but some people will return for the same reasons.

Holy smokes. It’s not very often that you have a guest who complains about being served a soufflé for breakfast. Mind you, if it had been one of our guests in our first year I probably would have understood. My Mom was quite a lady, but making breakfast, sometimes for as many as 20 people, is a skill that is learned, not one that you are born with. I remember once, in the early days of my soufflé making, baking the soufflés for over an hour. That particular one, a 3 cheese soufflé, is supposed to cook for about 25-30 minutes. For some reason, it wouldn’t rise and, in my innocence, I thought that if I just cooked it longer, it would eventually rise. Not so. Live, practice and learn. (We switched quickly to eggs benedict with smoked salmon instead.)

Then there was the time that, when making my grandmother’s breakfast cake I forgot to put in the baking soda. Guests loved it. That’s how ‘Spanish Biscotti’ was created!

So who would have thought that the cranberry custard soufflé would get such a panning (I checked back and this is the dish that we served to this guest and his partner). I modestly say that the vast majority of our guests appreciate having something special for breakfast, and this soufflé is, with one obvious exception, very well received.

As to the formality of the breakfast table, I can’t count the number of times that the laughter from the dining room has been so loud that I had to come out of the kitchen and bang a couple of pots together. Fernando, being from Spain, has a bit of trouble with the language. The accent doesn’t help much either. For the first year or so, he offered our guests ‘Scams, fresh from the oven’! You can read lots of other reviews from guests on our web site.

But, enough of what I have to say. In the end dear guest, you be the judge: come and join us for breakfast and decide for yourself.

set in a quiet neighbourhood yet only 10 minutes walk to harbour and downtown. Don and Fernando were such pleasant, charming friendly hosts with an excellent knowledge of the City. We were fascinated about the history of this beautiful Victorian home. Tea and coffee were provided each morning in the parlour before the scrumptious gourmet breakfasts of souffles, salmon quiche, spanish peaches and other tasty delights. Our room 8 had a magnificent 4 poster solid mahogony carved bed with bed linen of the highest quality. The spectaclular bathroom had the most luxurious towels I have ever seen. Little extra touches included ,such as make up remover wipes and candles for the jacuzzi bath. We would highly recommend Albion Manor. Thankyou Don and Fernando for making us feel so welcome into your beautiful home.

My husband and I had never stayed at a B&B, thinking that it would feel weird staying in someone else's home, but after finding their website, we were attracted to the uniqueness of this B&B and the interesting artwork and furnishings throughout the house. Plus, each room seemed to have been designed with both maximum comfort and character in mind. We are happy to say that our stay at Albion Manor exceeded our expectations. Everything was extremely clean and fresh. The house, both inside and out, was even more beautiful and interesting than what is pictured on their website. There are several first floor and basement level rooms. We stayed in one of the latter. There was lots of light through the windows, and it was peaceful and quiet, even though there were at least 3 other parties staying at the B&B. We enjoyed two breakfasts during our weekend stay and each one was so delicious, thanks to Don. Don also provided concierge service and effortlessly assisted us when we had questions about sightseeing and related logistics. Like Don, Fernando was the perfect host, making us feel completely at home, serving the breakfasts and lingering afterwards to chat with the guests. I truly believe that staying at Albion and meeting Don and Fernando made this one of the best vacations we ever had. Next time we visit Victoria, we've already decided that we'd love to stay here again.

We just got back from our stay at this B&B and we had a wonderful time. Everything from the outside of the property, down to every detail inside was everything one would expect from a charming B&B but also with some interesting touches added by the owners who have a background in art and theater. They were wonderful hosts and we could see how hard they work to keep the place as nice as it is. The rooms were spacious (much bigger and nicer than the pictures) and decorated sumptuously. The breakfasts were delicious and lavish and kept us full for most of the day. The garden is just lovely. The owners were extremely attentive and their personal service makes us want to go back every year! I'm not generally a B&B stayer b/c I generally like privacy but I would highly recommend this place for anyone going to Victoria (a lovely city!).
