“Unexpected fun”

We had a fantastic time at the Bug Zoo. We loved that it was interactive and that we got to see the bugs up close, and handle them. The staff is knowledgeable and engaging. My only tip would be to ask if a school group is coming in, as towards the end of the visit a large group came in, and it got loud and crowded.

“Blown away!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012 via mobile

This seemingly boring place was a huge hit with our family! Jessica, our "new" guide (as indicated in her name badge) was amazingly knowledgeable and entertaining. She was also fearless as she handled tarantulas, enormous cockroaches, millipedes and scorpions. We really had a great time.

“Great place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

We took our older two kids here, and once they got over their fear of the bugs they loved it. The guide was great with kids, really knowledgable and easy going, comfortable with small groups and with large classes. The bugs are really neat, and it was fun to hold them and learn about them. I went in expecting to keep my distance, but by the end I was holding a tarantula (!!). Totally worth the experience, no matter what your age. We'll definitely be back at some point.

A great interactive display of "bugs". Excellent staff very capable of engaging my grandson. He loves science and we would take him 2-3 times a year when he came to stay with us. If you like it first time you will go again and again.

“Wonderful, unexpected fun!”

We decided to visit the bug zoo based on reviews we read on Trip Advisor. When we arrived at first I was disappointed. It is a very small place and I guess in my mind I was thinking big zoo, but it is just one room. But there are so many cool creepy crawlies in there. When we arrived it was kinda quiet, but got busy quick. Liam was the guide who was AWESOME! (Thanks Liam!) He was very knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed the bugs. He walked around, over and over again tell people about each bug. At most cages, he would take a bug out and let you hold or touch them, if you are brave enough! The bug zoo was my favorite thing we did in Victoria and I highly recommend it for people of all ages. Even if you don't like bugs, go give it a try.
