we stayed here twice on our way up to and back from Tofino
( you must go there if on the island). I had written a note ahead of our stay and asked for an upgrade consideration since I am Marriott Gold. They put is in a great suite ( room 1306) the first night and again on our return. The corner suite had a living room, a dining room table, large bathroom with double sinks, granite counters and floor and a reasonable sized bedroom which was facing the harbor. The staff was incredibly friendly
(especially Alex at the front desk who remembered us from our first stay and she even remembered we were heading to Tofino! ) and the concierge lounge was wonderful. The view from the lounge on the 16th floor provided a perfect place to watch the cruise ships coming into the harbor and the food and drink offerings were above par. The location is directly behind the Empress and is in easy walking distance to the harbor and many restaurants. We definitely would go back and I highly recommend this property.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room facing the harbor. If you are luck enough to snag an upgrade, we liked room 13...

We decided to stay for 1 night at the beautiful Victoria as part of our Vancouver visit. It was nice and pleasant. The hotel is very clean and at a great location. Parking is actually available on street if you arrive after 6pm. Free parking from 6pm-9am. Walking distance to many restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay at this Marriott, so conveniently located within walking distance of the Ferry, museum, harbor, shops, and restaurants. Indoor pool and hot tub was nice for a swim and soak after sight seeing. Had a work out in the gym. Friendly front desk staff helped us with restaurant recommendations and reservations. They even surprised with with chocolate covered strawberries when we mentioned it was our wedding anniversary! Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable I'd come back again. Taxi ride from the ferry landing was about $7 with tip, but on the return, we walked back with two rolling suitcases. Seasickness on the ferry was not a problem coming or going, even though I get motion sickness very easily. Take tea at The Empress...very delightful!

Room Tip: The corner rooms have windows on both sides for lovely city views and are bright. Black out curtains...

This was our second stay at the Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour, and my wife and I chose it for a week of our vacation in June 2012 because our previous short stay 5 years ago had been wonderful.

The hotel has aged a bit since then but everything in our room was very clean and in good shape. The hotel staff did everything they could to make us happy, including putting chocolates in our room for our wedding anniversary.

We did pay a bit extra for access to the executive lounge, but it was definitely worth the cost. It has a great view and it offers free breakfasts in the morning and dinner-type snacks in the evening, as well as free soft drinks, juice, etc. all day. Unlike executive lounges at some other hotels (Hiltons come to mind), there are no free alcoholic drinks in this lounge. There's an honor bar, and you can get whatever you want, but that cold beer's going to cost you more than you might expect. Taxes on alcohol are very high in Canada.

As other reviewers have noted, the hotel's location could not be much better from a tourist's perspective. It's a couple of blocks from the harbor and the government house; the Royal BC Museum with its IMAX theater; and lovely Beacon Hill Park, which is a huge garden with playgrounds, ponds, band shell, picnic areas, etc. We didn't have a car so we walked everywhere we could, and never ran out of things to do and places to go within a couple of miles of the hotel.

Bottom line: Next time I'm in Victoria I'll definitely stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor facing westward. The best views are from rooms are on the southwest c...

Thanks for a great stay in a well appointed room. Views of the harbor were an added bonus. We stayed on the Concierge Level and the lounge was a nice touch. Our daughters thought it was the coolest place because they got to snack on whatever they wanted. Staff are topnotch here as well.

The Marriott is a large urban Marriott, with all the amenities expected. We stayed on the concierge floor and took advantage of a good breakfast. The double room has a balcony, but no furnature. I guess we could have pulled out the desk chair. Parking is not included and the hotel taxes kill. The only competition is the Empress, and the rooms there are far less quality. Stay at the Marriott and walk over for Tea!

We spent 3 ngts at the Marriott Inner Harbour June 22-25th. We had a concierge rm, which allows you access to the 16th floor Concierge lounge for complimentary breakfast, lunch and evening Hors D'oeurves. We only tried the breakfast , which was pretty good, although basic. Our room was on the 14th floor,we loved the ceiling to floor windows. The rm was a good size, very clean and comfortable. There was also a small balcony with no furniture..quite odd! The hotel is in a great location, close to the inner harbour and all its' attractions. All the staff we met were friendly and extremely proffesional.
