Hotel had great service, excellent rooms, and was located walking distance to the vibrant downtown. Though we didn't use the spa facilities, they looked amazing. The suite was roomy, we'll equipped, and the internet service was excellent. We extended our stay by an extra day just because the place was so great.

Pros:spacious rooms, washer driers in rooms a plus. Short walk to harbor but away from harbor noise. Beautiful lobby and huge pool. Spotless rooms. Well equipped kitchens. Loved free standing tub in main bathroom. Plenty of towels, nice balcony.

Cons: pool was colder than expected - kids would swim but cold for adults. Hot tub too hot to use one night we were there. Trash collection from surrounding buildings started up about 6.30 and continued for hours - very noisy. Windows left open to facilitate green a/c but downside was the noise that woke us due to this. Toilet is visible from bedroom which is a little strange. Sofa bed was not comfortable. Supermarket for supplies is a drive away.

Room Tip: West facing balcony to get view of sunset ( and maybe less morning noise)

Hello from The Parkside Hotel & Spa. We thank you for taking the time to review our property. We are so glad you enjoyed the spacious rooms with their well equipped kitchens, as well as our convenient downtown location. We are also glad you were able to relax in the free standing bath tub in the guest room. We are sorry to hear the you were woken up by the city garbage trucks. We do have suites located further away from the area mentioned should you decide to stay with us again. We are also sorry to hear you found the pool and hot tub temperatures unsatisfactory. We do keep them at the safe temperature that is dictated by Health and Safety standards. Also, there is a supermarket located four or five blocks from our hotel, and another a short drive away. We hope to get the chance to welcome you back to Victoria soon.

This property is a slice of heaven.
The one bedroom is suite that is about 500 square feet of space including a full kitchen, living room, deck, with a separate bedroom. The bath includes a heated tile floor. The kitchen includes a dish washer and even a combination washer dryer. This more of an apartment that hotel room.
The king size bed was firm and comfortable.
There are two 7 room towers with about 6 suites per floor. The parking is under ground with in and out privileges for $15 per night. The front desk is helpful and personable.
There is a restaurant on the property and a continental breakfast is available in the lobby for $10.
I would stay here again and I highly recommend the Parkside.
The building is a LEED platinum building.

We were delighted with our recent stay. We were 3 adults staying in a suite. It was extremely well-equipped and comfortable. The bed was particularly large and comfy. I also loved the huge rolltop bath in the main bathroom. The location of the hotel is very good, being in a fairly quiet side street, but only minutes from the city centre attractions, the totem poles and Beacon Hill Park. There is a lovely swimming pool and hot tub, as well as very attractive public areas throughout. Everything was extremely clean and well-maintained, and there were works of art to admire. Sadly, the rooftop garden was being refurbished at the time of our visit.

The hotel staff were all very pleasant. Christel in particular was extremely helpful, including arranging our whale watching trip at short notice, and Colin kindly helped us check-in online for our flight home. Nothing was too much trouble. The small cafe on site was good for a snack or light meal. Another real bonus was an extremely reasonably-priced (10$) and well-presented buffet breakfast.

Our travel agent suggested changing our original hotel to the Parkside as it was cheaper than alternatives and I am extremely pleased that they did.

Beautiful rooms, ultra clean, so quiet except for the sound of the outdoor waterfall. Amazing for this lovely downtown location, close to everything. Staff so friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again the next time I am in Victoria. Hope to stay longer to take advantage of all amenities. Platinum LEED building definitely a plus in my books.

Room Tip: If you love the tranquil sound of a waterfall, ask for a room in the location of the waterfall. Our...
