Located just down the block from the conference centre the hotel is in the middle of the action in Victoria. The hotel had very modern appointments and very comfortable. Good value for the money. Wish we had more time.

Top notch if you have a pet - right across the street from lovely grounds to walk a dog, and if you walk through the grounds, Beacon Hill Park is right there. Attractive, well equipped rooms (including in-room laundry facilities), extremely comfortable bed.

Arrival
The staff at the front desk and doormen were quite helpful on arrival. Our rocketbox on our van made our vehicle too tall to park in the garage. The Parkside staff happily helped us remove and store the rocketbox during our stay so that we could use the hotel’s convenient parking garage. The staff was very helpful in providing directions to grocery store options and tourist destinations such as Buchart Gardens.

Location
The location was excellent. The hotel is located across from a quiet and beautiful park. It is also quite close to the waterfront and we walked many times to the waterfront to coordinate with our friends and family in the yacht race as well as walked downtown for tourist activities.

The Room
The room was a perfect layout. We booked a two bedroom suite which my husband, 8 month old baby, and myself shared with my parents. The suite easily accommodated all of our baby gear (large jogging stroller, baby walker, play mat, pack and play, etc) and our crafting equipment such as our needlework stand. One room is quite larger than the other and was perfect for storing the large jogging stroller in the closet and accommodated all of our luggage and the baby’s crib (pack and play). In the larger room, a bathroom is connected. Another bathroom is located in a common area in the suite. The shower wasn't anything fancy, but it got the job done. The large bathroom connected to the master bedroom did not have a door and only had a clawfoot bathtub (no shower). I would prefer a door and shower option in the master. The kitchen was a good size, though tight with two people chopping vegetables and using the cook top. We used the kitchen and cooked for every meal during our long weekend. There is a good sized dining room table in the unit that the 5 of us ate at for every meal. The artwork in the rooms is poorly chosen. The photos are an oddly done collage. The paintings have a perspective that’s off enough to bother, but not abstract enough to be well done. Far too much depressing brown in the paintings. We brought our own pack and play but found out that the hotel has pack and plays available. After a blowout situation, and no extra sheet packed for our own pack and play, we had a hotel pack and play brought up. The sheet for it was ill fitting. The mattress was lumpy. During the night, my son ended up off the mattress and underneath it. Seems like a suffocation hazard. The porch on the unit was quite enjoyable and we spent time out there sipping our beverages.

The Wine Bar
A nice place to step out of the unit and sip a glass of wine or have a beer on the property.

The Fitness Facility
Very large and quite satisfying with a variety of cardio, weight, machines, and cables

The Spa
Book early. We tried booking treatments a few weeks in advance and the spa was completely booked.

The Atrium
Quite beautiful with a pond of sorts and fish.

Overall
Would definitely return. Enough comfort, luxury, excellent service, and utility that I wouldn't look elsewhere for a suite in Victoria.

Room Tip: Higher up rooms have a better view of the park

Limited food service was noted. I would have many positive things to say but insisting on 160 characters put me off and tempered my willingness to share those experiences...fishing for compliments is a bit over the top. You can do better!

Beautiful facility and great rate!! Front Desk and other staff were friendly and helpful! Rooms were clean and comfy other than the beds... Overall the comfort level of the bed was not great and didn't match the complete experience we had of the hotel!

Lovely room. Lots of space with great full kitchen.
Hotel is close to downtown, easy walk. Didn't get a chance to use any amenities. Two fireplaces and two bathrooms with a nice little deck overlooking the lobby.
