“The place to stay”
Reviewed April 12, 2014 via mobile

This place rocks
Location is perfect, quick walk to inner harbour, maybe 2.5 blocks
Little desk to sit outside and enjoy the view from our room
Separate bedroom, big closet, bed was very comfortable
Small kitchen with fridge, dishwasher, sink, toaster, eating table for 4
Separate living room
Couple of fireplaces, 2 flat screen tvs
Parking was underground, think $15 per night - luggage cart so we could bring our stuff up.
Place was clean, looked new
Staff was friendly
Lobby and gardens around the place were very cool
I would stay here again for sure

A very relaxing place to unwind after work... the suite is comparable to some high end fully furnished condos in Vancouver and other cosmopolitan cities. Best for pick if you are staying more than a couple of days...

The building was so hot it April, I cant imagine it in the heat of the summer! Had to sleep with all windows and doors open and it is on a very busy street. No sleep. At least the room was pretty to look at while we didn't sleep :)

Thank you for your review of The Parkside Hotel & Spa. We are sorry to hear about your experience at the hotel. The Parkside Hotel & Spa is striving to be a completely sustainable hotel. Our practices are eco-friendly which is why the hotel has chosen to not install air conditioning. In fact, due to Victoria’s mild climate you will find that many hotels in the Victoria area do not have air conditioning. That being said, we do have other alternatives to cooling down the rooms and a member of the Guest Services team are always happy to assist you with any questions or concerns during your stay. We thank you for your honest feedback and hope that we can welcome you back in the future.

We spent 6 nights at the Parkside in early April. We stayed in a 1br deluxe suite and it was plenty of space for 3 of us. The decor is very modern and the king bed is very comfortable. The pull out sofa is ok but not great. The atrium of the hotel is very classy with a fish pond the extends out to the courtyard. Our daughter enjoyed the fish immensely. The pool is huge (25 Metre) and the hot tub is very soothing in the evening. The staff were very helpful and housecleaning was very prompt. We were out most mornings and by noon the room was cleaned. It was a very pleasant experience for the price paid.

Stayed there 3 years ago - was good but not impressed... The unit washer was not working and they decline upgrading my room - even when they had one- (I am an Expedia Elite Member and they are a part of the program).
This time I decided to give it another try as they had good promotion...
I was impressed... The place did even get better in this 3 years which is not that common in hotel business. Good care is being taken of the furniture and overall surroundings. Immaculate. Beautiful design, everything is working. They are working on the new roof top garden...
This time I was not expecting an upgrade as I was arriving close to midnight which means - no manager on duty... Nevertheless they upgraded me in the next suite category WITHOUT ME EVEN ASKING... That was highly appreciated.
The only small glitch - room keys were programmed for 3 days instead of 4 - an extra trip to the reception... As main lobby had a wedding party we had to go around the building under the rain to reprogram our keys...
All in all - highly recommend. If you are tired of usual plain hotel rooms - this is the place to stay in Victoria.

Have stayed here a few different times.Very comfy, roomy and modern.LOVE the soaker tub off the master suite!.Great way to end the day, soaking in the tub, then jumping into the King Size bed! Comfort, all the way.The room very nice. But did not want to spend too much time there, close to so many attractions.Minutes away from the Harbour,so of course went for an evening stroll. The Museum, and Parliment buildings just minutes away.Cannot wait to book our next stay. The pool and jacuzzi, very nice, very big, felt like we had the place to ourselves.Lobby is just amazing, plants and decor, and ponds.Very nice,Well worth the money, very reasonable, for a classy hotel and spa.!

Room Tip: Most definitely ask for a room, not facing the courtyard area,It was nice, with all the flowers, but a...

If it is important to get back the cards for room entry, it would be convenient for guests to have a box in the parking areas to deposit them as though you can go down to the parking lot without the card, if you realize you have left something in the room, you need it to go back up.
