Not only was the room wonderful and more than I had expected with a great view of James Bay being so close to down town made attending all the fun events going on so much more enjoyable. We were with in walking distance to all the best shopping and restaurants as well as the music fesitval being held in the harbor. The staff at The Parkside Hotel & Spa were helpful, kind and respectful. I will be staying there every time I am in Victoria!!!

We took advantage of the package BC Ferry was offering, and booked a one night stay in Victoria. The Chateau Victoria was fully booked on our date, so we got to stay at Parkside instead - so glad that happened. We wished we could have stayed another night, and will definitely choose this hotel next time we are in Victoria. They gave us a complimentary upgrade to a luxury one bedroom, which included a second bathroom. Perfect for us, as there were four of us. The room was spotless, and huge! The kitchen to die for. Too bad we did not really cook there, but it would have been great if we did. We wish we owned a place like this, as that is what it felt like, a home!!! The location is great, as we walked to the Inner Harbour. all in all, a fabulous stay!!

Room Tip: All rooms will be excellant

Very nice hotel for our honeymoon. We stayed in a deluxe one bedroom suite with a king bed in a separate room, a living room, small balcony, kitchenette for three nights. It had more than we needed and everything was in very new condition (plus free wifi!). Our room did not have AC, but it was fairly cool while we were visiting right at the beginning of August.

The pool and hot tub were a good size and not busy at all when we went. They have a movie theatre with a large home theatre feel that shows two movies a day and nice rooftop terraces with lounge chairs. We did not take advantage of the spa, but the prices seemed fair and there were daily deals. It's just a few blocks from the water and main roads where the main attractions and shops are, so we were able to get around very easily by foot and city bus. You could easily make yourself comfortable for a long stay there. Would definitely go back.

We wanted somewhere close to the city core and this property delivered. Front desk staff were very friendly and chatted with me both at check in and check out. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. We didn't have a chance to use the pool but we stopped to look and it was very large and well kept. The only downside for me - and this is to be expected in a city - was the traffic noise. You may want to ask for a room that isn't on Blanshard. We ate at Catalano about 2 blocks away and it was fantastic.

Very well located resort hotel close to the inner harbour. It is litterally just around the corner.

The two-bedroom apartments are big with a bathroom for each bedroom. Big open living/dining room and kitchen. There is everything you need in the kitchen: oven, micro, dish washer, toaster even blender.
Each apartment suite has a balcony with table and chairs.

The pool is also amazing and long.

Wifi is complimentary

I will start by agreeing with what a lot of reviewers are saying...yes, it is centrally located, the check-in staff were pleasant and the place is in relatively good decorative order. However, there are a few downsides that I think potential users of this hotel need to be mindful of before booking.

My biggest problem with the hotel is that only a handful of rooms overlooking the atrium have air conditioning. This is not something obvious on their website and reception certainly don't tell you this when you check in. This is a MAJOR problem in the summer. We booked two nights in mid-July when temps were in the high 20s (celsius) and we found it very hot and stuffy (incidentally, they claim there is no a/c because they are a "green" hotel, yet they give out little disposable tubes of shampoo, etc rather than using refillable containers).

Unfortunately, the atrium rooms overlook the reception and you can easily see into other guests rooms which means that an already dark room would need to have the curtains closed the whole time. I know this because we were given an atrium room (before we knew about the a/c) but we asked to "upgrade" and were switched to Tower B and a room on the 7th floor. The view was more pleasant but this is when we discovered - after reading the info pack - that there was no a/c, nor was there any tinting on the windows. So the curtains had to stay closed anyway as the sun made the room too hot otherwise. We were instructed to simply open our windows to cool the room down. Unfortunately, our room overlooked Blanshard Street which is exceptionally busy and loud. Even when we closed the windows we could hear enough loud traffic that we had to use ear plugs. So sleeping and even hanging out in the room was not very pleasant. This is the main reason I would not go back. Other little things that I think are of consequence to some when they are on vacation: there did not seem to be any doorman or anyone to help with your luggage etc; the decor is very dark and whilst newer, it is not very inviting or warm and it certainly doesn't exude any ambiance; there is a great little cafe/patisserie but no place to enjoy an evening drink or nice dinner; there is no mini-bar or place to grab snacks/soft drinks so you have to walk a few blocks to a find a corner store. All in all, I think there are other centrally located hotels with great staff that offer a/c and a more ambient environment than this hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed our downtown location, modern design, and friendly guest services team. The Parkside Hotel & Spa prides itself on being a sustainable hotel targeting LEED Platinum Certification, which is why not all of our suites can have air conditioning. However our housekeeping team actively takes measures to cool suites down during the few hot summer days in Victoria.

We donate all of our in-room amenities such as shampoos and conditioners to an organization called HOPE for Soap, which gathers unused hotel amenities for people in need. We do have a bellman on staff to assist with luggage during peak hours. Caffe Fantastico, connected to our lobby, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as beer and wine for an evening drink. We also have vending machines on-site if you are just looking for packaged snacks and soft drinks. We hope to welcome you back to The Parkside in the future to enjoy some of the services you may have missed on this trip. Thank you, again, for providing your feedback.
