Had a wonderful stay over the long weekend! This bed and breakfast was beyond anything I expected! Beautiful rooms, so comfortable, quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Ross and Sylvia are excellent hosts. Breakfast, best breakfasts I have ever eaten in my life. SO good, we even bought Sylvia's cookbook. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone visiting Victoria to stay here. I would love to go back here again! Definitely check this amazing place out.

We had a wonderful stay at Fairholme Manor during our honeymoon! Sylvia was the hostess with the mostest and made sure we were happy and comfortable. We felt like royalty. Breakfast was delicious and we even bought the cookbook she wrote! We would absolutely stay here again.

We highly recommend the Fairholme Manor if you want to get away and relax in luxury and be treated to a gourmet breakfast. We felt spoiled and loved every minute of it. We stayed in the #2 suite on the main floor which was spacious and had a great view of the lovely garden. The manor is in an ideal neighborhood for long walks. We look forward to returning again soon.

Room Tip: Splurge on the larger suites - you deserve it!

What a lovely b&b! First, all the reasons to stay here: The breakfasts truely are the best we have ever enjoyed - So much so, we even bought a cookbook. Every day included a pastry (scone, muffin, etc.) and bread, along with granola, fresh fruit and a different entree, coffee and juice - All delicious and plentiful servings. I especially enjoyed and took a daily stroll enveloped in the beautiful landscaping around the property all abloom with the most gorgeous flowers and plants. We stayed in the French Country which is reportedly the smallest room but found it to be large enough to comfortably accomodate 2 people. Highly recommend the Fairholme, but visitors to Victoria need to be aware though it is located in a lovely neighborhood it is not an easy walk into town - Either have a car or be prepared to take a taxi. Also, if you are a light sleeper, make certain to book a room on the second floor (because the kitchen is on the first floor, and breakfast preparations begin every morning at 7:30am). Both Sylvia and her husband are the most warm and welcoming hosts who run a clean and tastefully decorated inn.

Room Tip: If a light sleeper, book a room on the second floor (away from the breakfast and front door traffic...

We stayed there first week of Oct. 2012 and it was beautiful and an amazing house and just beautiful - the breakfast was excellent - Sylvia prepares the most amazing scones and food I've ever had. Her and her husband are wonderful people and make your stay 5 stars!!!! Loved this place and close to tour places around the neighborhood and great restaurants they recommended near by too.

Room Tip: All the rooms were big and beautiful!!!! Wonderful restored Victorian house.

Unfortunately we only stayed one night in Victoria on our trip around Western Canada, but this is a superb place. It is a beautiful building with outstanding gardens and even more impressive interior design. We were initially greeted by Ross, who made us feel very welcome and gave us some suggestions for dinner that night. The room we stayed in was the Fairholme Grande Suite (thanks Sylvia!) which was out of this world. A huge king sleigh bed, a double jacuzzi bath, and views out onto the amazing gardens.
Breakfast was also fantastic. There is a whole array of fresh fruit, homemade granola, yoghurt, fresh bread and scones straight from the oven, and then we were served the most amazing omelette, with cheese, spinach and cherry tomatoes. Yum!
The location was perfect for us - in a nice quiet suburb, approximately a 20-30 minute walk to Victoria's harbour. It is right next door to the gardens of Government House, which are free to walk round during daylight hours, and just down the road from Craigdarroch Castle.
All in all, a superb stay.

We made a late reservation as we were leaving Vancouver, luckily Sylvia had just one room available. The French Garden room was great value for money, although probably not as large as the other room - should you want more space and a balcony. Still beautifully decorated though. We arrived into Victoria via pacific coachlines from the ferry and our hosts were wonderful and kindly offered to pick us and our luggage up and drive us to Fairholme Manor.
The B&B is only 5 mins from downtown (empress & harbour) in a car but a 20-30minute walk - its a beautiful part of town though and worth the stroll if you have time. We visited two of the hosts recommended restaurants on our two night stay and both were fantastic.
The breakfasts in the B&B are outstanding - plenty of variety and plenty of homemade (often from Sylvia's own cookbook) and beautifully presented breakfasts from Sylvia and her staff. We really enjoyed our stay here and would certainly recommend it!

Room Tip: Some of the upstairs rooms are larger with private balconies
