“Charming”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2011

My husband and I recently spent three days in Victoria BC. We stayed at this charming B&B and we loved it. Even though it is only a 20-25 minute walk or a 5-7 drive to the downtown waterfront, the impression that we had was that we were not in the city. There is a lovely public garden next to the house as well as the lovely property that surrounds the house, providing scenic views from all the windows. We had a one bedroom suite with a kitchen, fireplace and separate entrance. We had a wonderful breakfast every morning, as the owner is a talented cook. (She has a cookbook for sale with many of the recipes that she uses for her guests. The owner will also supply wine, fresh flowers, massages, etc. as well as lots of advise about things to do, and restaurants to visit.

Beautiful gardens and amazing rooms with lots of windows and bright natural sunshine. The view from our room (#3) was incredible. It overlooked the ocean and mountains from the patio.
The owners were very accomodating. In fact, I was feeling ill on the day we were to check in and they allowed me to enter into another room 5 hours earlier than expected so that I could lay down to rest. This was a life saver!
The food was good too. However, my husband (being a big eater) was hoping for larger portions.
I did wish/desire for a central location or room where we could all come together to visit other than the dining area. This would have been nice in order to mingle with other guests.
Overall.....stay was amazing! We will certainly go back again for a visit and will make this our preferred place to stay.

My husband and I stayed at Fairholme for part of our honeymoon last year and had a wonderful stay. The home is gorgeous, the food is delicious and Sylvia is a gracious hostess! We stayed in the Olympic Grand Suite which was gorgeous (and huge) and well-worth the splurge! At the end of our stay, Sylvia gave us a copy of her amazing cookbook as a wedding gift. The recipes are delicious and I use it all the time! Go visit, you'll be happy you did!

If you are "in" to staying at B&Bs and love food, then this is the place for you. Our room was amazing. Cozy, clean, comfortable. It almost felt a shame to not spend more time in it. But the food is what sets Fairholme apart. Highly recommended.

at fabulous fairholme for 2 nights, including our wedding night. (we actually got married in their garden). sylvia, the owner, upgraded us and we were lucky enough to experience 2 suites. -the penthouse ( with a wee kitchen) and the olympic grande suite. spotless, perfect decor, lots of room, awesome views, what a treat. breakfast was gourmet. we live close to this neighbourhood ( i know!) -we didn't need to seek advice on what to do in town, so we eavesdropped and sylvia was spot on. friendly, classy-can't wait to go back for an anniversary or any special occassion. if we could only figure out how to let a room!

I had the occasion to visit fairholme manor many times over the years as my father would spend 6 weeks here every winter. After my father passed away I returned with my daughter. I have many wonderful memories of sitting in the Adirondack chairs sipping a cup of tea during a sunny day in February or March.
I have stayed in three of the rooms and have had a tour of all the rooms. This is a beautifully decorated B&B with continually updating every year. The look is perfect- a little bit pottery barn, very fresh looking and current. Sylvia one of the owners has a wonderful eye for detail and I have tried to recreate some of her decorating touches at home.
The location is perfect- great walking and gardens close by.

This should be the top B&B in Victoria.

Also the owners don’t live in the building (they live on the property in a separate house) which I really liked as I never felt I was imposing inn someone else’s home and it was really quiet at night

We spent 2 days here. Arrived as strangers left as friends. Sylvia knows how to make a B and B feel like home yet makes it a special retreat. She is a fabulous hostess, her breakfasts are so delicious that we bought her cookbook. We stayed in the Olympic Suite. It was so roomy and decorated with an understated elegance. The view out our windows and balcony were mesmerizing. Sylvia recommended great places to eat and was so nice to us. This is one oft he nicest B and B's we have ever stayed in. Would recommend very highly. Thank you Sylvia for opening up your gracious home and hospitality to all of the weary travellers around the world! Can't wait to make one of your lovely breakfasts!
