“Interesting menu and attention to quality”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2013

This restaurant adds some zest to South East Asian cuisine choices in the region, with Thai, Lao and other options on an interesting menu. Seating is simple but comfortable in a mall area on the outskirts of Victoria, on the start of the main highway to the airport and ferry terminal. My lunches have all involved excellent service. I have only started trying the unique items on their menu and so far all have been excellent, particularly duck and chicken dishes and soups. Cooked fresh to order which does take time. I will be back to try the next unique Lao dish !

“Honest quality food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2013

Lao Vientaine because the food is authentic. Made fresh and not sitting around. No aditives such as MSG or salt. Fresh tasty that does not leave you feeling bloated and thirsty. Some times the service is a little slow but I think most Asian retaurants are similar so no suprise. Hope they stay in business for a long time.

“Great lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

We had phad Thai and salad rolls but they were great. The phad Thai was sweet and savoury but only because of the carmelization of the ingredients. The peanut sauce was excellent. The service was ok

“A Delicious Surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

We went here for lunch on a recommendation from a friend - we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and value of the food. Traditional Laotian and Thai style dishes, very fresh and nicely presented. The restaurant was bright with appealing decor, and was busy over the lunch hour, always a good sign. We each had a lunch special, consisting of a good size serving of tasty curry with veg and meat, small side salad (basically lettuce with a dressing) and rice. I opted for the additional 2 spring rolls for $1 extra - very crispy and tasty. The spiciness was just about right for the average uninitiated Western palate - next time I might try one of the lunch combos which let you choose the level of spiciness (mild, medium or hot). A nice find for that part of town,(Town and Country) we will be back.

“Superb food, accommodate allergies!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Owner seems to make several of own sauces which is great when you need to know ingredients! Excellent food...lovely to be able to go out and know the meal I am having meets my dietary requirements. Quickly becoming one of our favourite places in Victoria!
