Owner description: This scenic patch of waterfront is the location of Victoria's many tourist attractions, recreational activities, restaurants and shopping. For a special treat, have afternoon tea at the grand Empress Hotel or board a ferry for a harbor tour.

The beauty of Victoria I believe lies in it's wonderful Harbour ! From the coming and goings of the float planes to the locals selling wares along the waterfront to the shops and restaurants fronting the walkways, the whole area has a nice , laid back feeling. It would be extremely busy during the tourist season so am glad to catch it as it was ! A good stroll around can fill in an early morning or late afternoon if you stop for a feed or brew ?

The harbor tug boat taxi tours were delightful. It is so relaxing to sit on the benches and watch the world go by. Can't beat listening to street performers and the sound of sea gulls. Beautiful!

A new art installation called The Hands of Time has been added to the inner harbour, downtown and Beacon Hill Park area. Ask for a map/brochure at the tourist center and have fun looking for the 12 different bronze sculptures tucked in and around the area. Great fun for kids (and adults!) who like to go on 'treasure hunts'!

This is a great place to hang out, especially in off season for those of us visiting in the winter from colder climates Find a bench, some sunshine and relax andwatch the boats, planes, and entertaining harbour seals. "Red Fish, Blue Fish" is a super spot for lunch.

It was busy and interesting but not too loud. We sat on the balcony and enjoyed watching the workings of the harbor.
