Owner description: This scenic patch of waterfront is the location of Victoria's many tourist attractions, recreational activities, restaurants and shopping. For a special treat, have afternoon tea at the grand Empress Hotel or board a ferry for a harbor tour.

This is a wonderful place to walk- day or evening. It is right near the downtown area. If you are with children be sure to grab a light lunch at a place on the water to watch the seaplanes fly in and out. FREE. Clean. Safe. Bring your camera.

Victoria's Inner harbour is the heart of all site seeing. Surrounded by attractions like the Royal BC Museum, Legislature(aka Parliament) building and the famed Empress hotel, this working harbor has so much to offer. In the summer you will find vendors on the lower causeway along with talented buskers. Various tours for whale watching and site seeing and one of the stops for the little Harbour Ferries. Throughout the year there are festivals to enjoy and one of the most boisterous but family friendly Canada Day celebration and fireworks display in the country. North of the causeway, is the Government Street shopping district with quaint little stores for several blocks. If all you have time for is a day in Victoria, this is the must see area!

Yes, to see all this amazing scenery in Victoria and to think it is all Free. You can walk through the World Famous Fairmont EMPRESS Hotel, the BC Legislature built in the 1890's, see all the yacht's and sailboats at the wharf, Bateman's Art Gallery in the old CPR Steamship Terminal, etc. You can also take whale watching tours and 3 hour sailboat cruises from here as well as the Victoria Clipper Ferry to Seattle or the Coho Ferry to Port Angles, WA.

Boats ,planes and ferries use this harbour so it is a departure as
well as a arrival place for many. Summer time is very entertaining
with buskers, artisans and food. This harbour truly the center of
the city of Victoria.
