We just stayed at Abbeymoore for two nights and we enjoyed it immensely! Ian was a great host with suggestions on things to do, places to eat, and entertained us with his personality. The Inn takes into account all the little touches that made us feel welcome....fresh baked cookies in the afternoon, a little bag to take home their great soap, printed breakfast menus welcoming new guests and wishing farewell to those leaving. The breakfasts were fresh and creative. The location was great as well being located across from the Government House and within walking distance to downtown areas.

I am so remiss in not adding my review for this gorgeous property sooner. We stayed in the Master Bedroom for 2 nights in September last year and loved *every single second* of our stay!
I've stayed in a few B&Bs in various countries over the years and this is the best one I have ever stayed in. Usually I can see some way the hosts can improve your stay, but there is literally nothing that the owners at Abbeymoore haven't thought of. The breakfasts are amazing, and even though I had forgotten to advise in advance that I don't eat seafood, the substitute dishes I was given were still beautiful and had the same level of care taken in their preparation and plating. Sitting in the breakfast room, eating like gods while watching squirrels bounce along the fence and the jewel like hummingbirds at the nectar feeder is one of my favourite memories from our visit to Victoria. And the bed... well, I've never slept in sheets so soft before! We even bought a set when we left and they are on constant rotation on our bed back home. The owners also provide complimentary snacks, plus tea & coffee and also a fridge with water bottles etc that you can take with you when you're out seeing the town.
Our room had it's own balcony too which was a lovely extra that you don't get in a hotel.
We had booked a whale watching tour, but on talking to the staff found out there was a better company to go with that was also cheaper and included a Butchart Gardens pass. One phone call later and out hosts had managed to cancel our old reservation (with nil cancellation fee) and booked us with the other company! We're so glad they did too, as we saw whales on our tour and later found out the company we originally booked with had no luck that day.
They also did a load of washing for us for free (because they like Aussies!) and even managed to help me get my stuck polarising filter off my camera (tip - use an elastic band to grip it).

Seriously, they are awesome, amazing, wonderful - can not say enough good things about this B&B! My only regret apart from leaving is that it's taken me so long to post my review!

Thank you Abbeymoore - will will tell everyone we know they should stay with you if they visit Victoria.

Ann and Ian really know how to run a first class bed and breakfast! We've stayed in two other B&B's in Victoria and this is hands down, simply the best. They have the right formula for running a B&B in an old Victorian home without the mustiness that usually accompanies the category.

One of the first things you notice when you pull up on their driveway is the well manicured grounds. This theme carries through as you walk up the steps and notice the inviting sitting area on the front porch. Inside you find very tasteful furniture and area rugs. We were toured through the main room where guests can mingle and enjoy a sherry, into the inside dining area where complimentary refreshments, snacks and a freshly baked treat are located.

We stayed in the Primrose room which was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The washroom, as mentioned by Ian, is one of the next in line for a renovation, but even without an update, it was very roomy and clean. Oh and if you're picky about towels like I am, these are the cleanest and fluffiest bath towels I've had at any accommodation! Tripadvisor really should have a Towel Freshness rating because for me, this can really make or break a B&B.... but I digress!

For those who like to research tourist stops or browse the internet in the evenings, they have no less than 3 SSID's and ensure excellent Wifi coverage throughout the premises.

We hadn't made plans for supper but Ann had shown us their collection of menus from the restaurants they recommend. After perusing through a few, Ian helped us narrow our search and recommended a very good spot, frequented by locals and well away from the main tourist area.

Breakfast was excellent as well! Two-courses prepared with care and very delicious... pictures are attached so I won't bore you with a culinary description. The weather was very good that day so they had their patio open for patrons. We elected to stay inside but in hindsight, we should have seated ourselves on the patio and enjoyed a view of their grounds.

Unfortunately we only stayed one night as it was our last day in Victoria. There are so many thoughtful touches throughout the Abbeymoore (too many to mention!) which made our stay extra special. We highly recommend staying here!

Anne and Ian are the reason.
Delightful and accommodating, they both made our stay unforgettable!
One day in Victoria was ridiculous, we will be returning soon to really take in the ambiance of the most beautiful and heavenly garden spot on the planet.

Thanks for the wonderful review Deb. Just to clarify for TA readers Abbeymoore has won a Travelers Choice Award from TripAdvisor Readers each year since 2010. We have twice been named to the Top 25 in the World list with a ranking of #2 in 2010.

These awards come from the reviews our guests leave here and we are grateful that they do. The guest experience is the most important part of a stay with us and our entire team (Michelle, Stephanie, Morgan, Anne & I) is dedicated to ensuring that everyone has a great stay.

Cheers from Team Abbeymoore!

The fact that Ian and Ann have won the TripAdvisor award for best B&B four years in a row says it all. Gorgeous property in the Rockland section of Victoria, it's impeccably kept. We had the Master room, which includes a balcony with table, umbrella, chairs and chaise longues. The bed was SO comfortable. Breakfast is amazing, with juice, a first course of yogurt and fruit, and a hot main dish such as omelet or poached eggs with breakfast meat and homemade baked good. Ian and Ann are so accommodating with menus - be sure to tell then if you have any special requirements, or even things you just don't like. For example, if you weren't expecting asparagus with you eggs, please tell them ahead of time. There is a printed menu of the day's offerings, so look it over first. Coffee and snacks are available all day. There is even port set out in the evening. Abbeymore is just a few blocks from the Government House and gardens. Both Ann and Ian are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. If we ever go back to Victoria, I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Would highly recommend this B&B. Ann, Ian, Michelle, and the whole service crew were great. The breakfast was an expectional start to the day. Ian and Ann provided great insight to local sites and restaurants. A must stay if you are in Victoria.

Room Tip: All rooms were great
