Great one-day stay. The innkeepers even arranged some special flowers for me in the room. Breakfast was nice too, and there was a large assortment of drinks/cookies. Would recommend this B&B to anyone.

Room Tip: Book early in advance, as rooms tend to be occupied quickly.

Absolute perfection - the Gold Standard of bed and breakfast inns. Hosts Anne and Ian were extremely friendly and helpful. Abbeymore is perfectly situated for walking and the neighborhood is spectacular. Breakfast was delicious and raises the bar for B&B's everywhere. We have stayed in B&B's all over the world and this is the best so far - right here at home on Vancouver Island.
Nothing better anywhere !

Having read the reviews before we made our booking at the Abbeymoore, our expectations were high. After spending two nights there we realized that everything about this bed and breakfast exceeded those earlier expectations! It was the attention to the small details that really made the Abbeymoore such an exceptional experience. Attentive and charming hosts and staff, port, chocolates and fresh baked treats, amazing breakfasts, and located in a heritage neighbourhood close to the downtown area...what more could you ask for? We'll be back!

We spent Christmas at the Windborne B & B who told us of Abbeymoore so my husband surprised me for my birthday with a stay at the Abbeymoore in Victoria. We have to say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Rose Room with the fireplace and the food was magnificent! Their dedication to guest service was exceptional. I thought White Rock was quick to give parking tickets. We received not one but 3 tickets in a 2 hour period. This is not conducive to attracting tourists to Victoria and Ian was kind enough to have 2 of the 3 tickets waived and Michelle/Stephanie called the restaurant to have a bottle sent to our table. Many thanks to all for smoothing out the only wrinkle in our wonderful trip!

Room Tip: We loved the fireplace in the Rose room.

Hi Kim,

Thanks for the great review! So glad to hear you enjoyed your birthday getaway at Abbeymoore and that Michelle and Stephanie took great care of you while we were on a break.

Sadly Victoria commisionaires seem pretty quick to ticket so we always recommend the city parkades and supply "1st Hour Free" coupons. In addition Victoria has confusing meters restricting some spots to "Smart" cars, short stays and disabled permits and this may not to be obvious to visitors.

I am always happy to help our guests with these issues by popping into the parking dispute office & I'm glad that they were flexible when I asked them for consideration on behalf of a tourist.

Looking forward to meeting you in the future :)

Cheers

We'd never stayed at a bed and breakfast before going to Abbeymoore, I didn't think it was the sort of thing I would enjoy, but the reviews we read were so glowing that my girlfriend and I decided to try it instead of a hotel when we were up in Vancouver for five nights. I'm really glad we did, because I loved it.

Where to start? The Rose room was amazing, just a beautiful room with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The breakfasts were delicious and healthy and we've been trying to recreate some of our favorite dishes at home ever since we got back. I really enjoyed all of the little touches like the travel books in the library, the movies in the living room, the cordial for night caps, the selection of teas and the electric kettle (you were right Ian, we ended up buying ourselves one for Christmas). The location is great too, it's a really nice neighborhood next to the Government House and near Craigdarroch Castle, just a quick walk to downtown Victoria.

The service though was above and beyond what we were expecting. Ian, Anne, and Michelle were all extremely friendly and helped us out with things like directions, restaurant recommendations, suggestions for activities, crossword puzzle clues in the morning, medicine when I started coming down with a cold, a bucket of cider on ice when we decided to stay in one day. By the end of our trip I didn't want to leave!

I'd recommend Abbeymoore to anyone, I couldn't imagine staying there and not having a wonderful time.

Room Tip: The Rose room is amazing. Great bed, fire place, and a huge shower.

Thanks David! What a great review! It's always fabulous for us to get 1st time B&B'ers so we can show B&B's are the "Better Way To Stay". Hope you are feeling better!

We saw the reviews prior to our trip and we were really excited and expectations were high - but the impeccable service, charming interiors and indulgent breakfasts blew us away.

The moment we stepped into the manor and was greeted by the jolly Ian, we were charmed by the festive, warm, cozy interior and of course, Ian's cherry greeting :) We've also read about the daily baked bites, snacks and beverages available in the dining room throughout the day. So we snapped up some macaroons before checking into our room.

Location: It's a 20-min walk to downtown. Or a quick 3-5min cab ride for 9 to 10 bucks.

Room: We stayed in the Lilac room. Bathroom was much bigger than we imagined. Bed was really comfy with layers of velvety sheets. One thing that surprised us was the sheets smelling like candy! I really liked a red furry throw that was on the bed and asked Ian & Anne where they got it from. Apparently it was from Costco and pretty cheap so they decided to give it to me as a gift - thanks a mil!

Breakfast: Anne is definitely a talented chef. We look forward to breakfast every day. There's a nicely printed menu (with a small section introducing new guests / bidding farewell to older ones). There's coffee, a variety of teas, juice selection, 1st course and main course. What a treat! Ian & Anne were also kind enough to scale the portions down slightly for those who have a smaller appetite in the morning.
We overheard Ian saying that they try very hard not to repeat breakfasts for guests. The record was something like 27 days with a different breakfast menu each day for a long-staying guest!

We'll be recommending Abbeymoore to our friends. Really sad to leave but we hope to visit again soon :)

We've just finished 3 nights at Abbeymoore visiting family in Victoria BC and taking in Christmas in this lovely city. This Inn is one of the best we've stayed in and I can't recommend it enough. Ian, Anne and Michelle are wonderful hosts and looked after us from the moment we arrived. We stayed in the Rose Room and its probably the best Christmas room you could imagine. Lovely fireplace in the corner, amazing period furniture but with all of the modern conveniences from a king side bed to a rain head shower. Breakfasts were first rate 3 course experiences - Anne does a lovely omelette and don't miss the homemade thick cut marmalade. The location is perfect for us. Close to downtown - 10 minute drive at most and close to our family so its perfect. As well, the neighborhood is a wonderful place to take a walk about. First rate.

Room Tip: The Rose Room is the best in our opinion, especially for winter.
