Description: 1-250-590-6944 they don't have a website yet and the phone message says they're not open yet. BUT they're definitely open - I was there tonight. It's a small local pub and gets business thru word of mouth.

It's the only bistro there so, it's conveniently located to where I was staying. The food is ok, but there seems to be too few people serving there, so the wait could be long.

On my way to visit relatives, I realized I was hungry so stopped in at McRae's for a quick break...had the McRae's Salad with the Mango-Vinegarette dressing at the suggestion of my extremely friendly female server.
It was just the right food for that time of the day.
McRae's is cozy and fun....kind of a family sports bar...thought it was a really nice neighbourhood place to eat good, reasonably priced food...

A little gem with great food and service. The only negative is the way too loud music in such a small place.

Four of us went for dinner and the food was average at best. I had nachos and you'd think there was no way a cook could do a lousy job on this easy item.....well, it was so over baked that the chips were brittle and tasteless, I suspect the chips were from Walmart or Cosco, the cheeses they used were also tasteless, and the portions of sauces were small. Others in the group had burgers, salads, and wings. No one was impressed. The service was friendly but definitely could have been turned up a notch. In the small area we sat in, there are 4 large TVs and music blaring from overhead speakers. McRaes has a very limited menu and a rather bleak decor. There are so many better places to dine at in Victoria. We won't be back.

Service is very good and the staff are attentive and genuine....food menu is limited but consistently good, great spot on a main street (shelbourne). Atmosphere is welcoming, a good spot to view your favorite sporting event...No dislikes, liked the great service
