“Good lodging and nice breakfast”
Reviewed October 31, 2011

Travelodge is nothing fancy and is over a mile from the city of Victoria. When we arrived in Victoria (5:00 pm), we took a taxi to the hotel but, when we went into town, we rode a bus that stops at the hotel two or three times each day (no cost for the bus). The hotel serves a very tasty breakfast at a reasonable cost. However, that is the only meal served there. The nearest restaurant (Denny's) is about 4 or 5 blocks away but it is within walking distance. We rented a car the day after we arrived. There is not a lot of parking in town (near Parliament, Hotel Empress etc.) so, if you choose a hotel hear this area, it would be best to walk. Overall, the Travelodge was a nice place to stay, the staff were very nice and very helpful.

Thanks for writing a review of our hotel. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and were able to use of our complimentary shuttle service to downtown operated by Big Bus Victoria. Riding our free shuttle is much less hassle than parking downtown. It is also worth mentioning that you can ride the public bus between the hotel and downtown for a modest fare per person and the service runs every 10-15 minutes. Although our hotel doesn't offer fancy bells and whistles, we certainly offer clean and comfortable accommodation at a price that can't be beat. Please note that although our hotel restaurant only serves breakfast, lunch and dinner is served in our pub. We do have a number of other restaurants in the area that are closer than Denny's. Our front desk staff would be pleased to help find a restaurant that will suit your needs. Thanks for choosing to stay with us and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Victoria was my final stop on my business trip and I chose this Travelodge solely based on price. I wasn't disappointed. The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful. I arrived in Victoria slightly after midnight and the gentleman at the frontdesk was very professional and courteous. They don't have a concierge , but he cheerfully helped me with my luggage. I also thought it was a very nice touch to call my room and find out if everything was ok.
Its not an ultra-modern hotel, but the room had nice decor, everything squeaky clean, and very comfortable bed. They have a restaurant onsite but I didn't use it. I was given a free upgrade to a kitchen suite at check-in so I cooked all my meals in my room, which further saved me some cash.
Also, if you are coming from the airport take the shuttle. I paid $55 coming into the city on a taxi and paid $21 leaving on a shuttle. Thanks to the Frontdesk for letting me know about the shuttle service.
This hotel is worth the mention, and worth the money. I will stay at the Travelodge if am ever in Victoria again.

Room Tip: Take shuttle if coming from the Airport. Get a room with a waterway view & a kitchen.

Thank you for writing this great review of our hotel. I am so glad that even after midnight, our staff offered you four star service. We are a quaint older property in Victoria but we pride ourselves on the levels of quality and service that we provide at an unbeatable price. Although our building is older, our guest rooms are modern and up to date complete with white bedding, mini fridges, and 43" flat screen televisions. On top of that, guests will always enjoy four star service from our staff for just a 2 to 3 star price! Thanks for your review and we hope to see you again soon!

Even though we dropped in late in the evening the front desk staff managed to supply us with a very comfortable room. The bed felt like it was new, the shower was good, the room was fresh, clean and quiet. This makes for a good nights sleep. The price was very reasonable also. We will stay here again the next time we are in Victoria.

Thank you for writing a review of our hotel. It's great to hear that you enjoyed all aspects of your stay including the bed. We have been in the process of replacing many of our beds over the last year with brand new Serta beds and the reviews from our guests have been excellent! Thanks for choosing to stay with us and we look forward to your next visit.

We were showing a visitor from England around the Island. Our friend is not only allergic to anything containing wheat, but also dairy. It is not easy to find a restaurant that can accomodate both of these problems. We were able to get a lovely clean room with kitchen, for my husband and I, with an adjoining seperate bedroom. This was perfect, we unloaded our supplies into the fridge, had a drink and snack and next morning we opened the connecting door and were able to enjoy breakfast together.

Room Tip: Make sure you have adjoining rooms. No need to dress, you can eat in your P.J's. Ideal for ext...

We only stayed one night but had a very well equipped room. Follow the Travelodge internet instructions on how to find it and you can't go wrong. Large supermarket and other shops five minutes drive north along Gorge St.

Ask for a quiet room along the side road to avoid the bar music. Good service from front desk.

Room Tip: Rooms along the side road are quieter and closer to parking.

This review if for the 2 queen sized beds, with kitchenette & 42" hdtv. This suite was recently renovated and very clean. It was basic but spacious and comfortable. The room also had a waterfront view. Although it is not located downtown it is only a 5 minute drive and has shuttle service.

The hostess at the reception was very friendly and helpfull. She arranged several things for us in an afficient and friendly way.
So, a good hotel and good rates.
