“Class Trip”
Reviewed March 17, 2012

I was extremely blown away with what this museum offered, from a learning experience and keeping your interest while learning. I went here as part of a field trip in college (Tourism and Hospitality) and after doing several field trips to hotels and other museums this one was awesome. I could have stayed there for hours and hours looking at everything. It was so life like! Will surely be back with my kids one day.

“a great way to spend a day with the kids.”
Reviewed March 16, 2012

My son loved the bug discovery area and I love the nature scenes, and the old west gold rush village. There are so many exhibits we didn't take in the body exhibit last time but for us it was a good thing since it would have been too much for our child to take in one visit.

“Start at the top!”
Reviewed March 16, 2012

The most interesting things are on the top floor. Start there then work your way down.

“Excellent exhibits, something for all age groups”
Reviewed March 16, 2012

This is the principal museum of the Province of BC and is well worth a visit. Allow a half day, or see it in two "bites" over two days. Centrally located just of the inner harbour, the museum includes excellent permanent exhibits: the geologocial history and evolution of the Pacific Coast Rain Forest and ocean ecosystems, with interpretive activities for children; very good anthropological dioramas of early aboriginal cultures and technologies, and a spectacularexhibit of historic aboriginal masks, cultural artifacts and long house structures. For social history buffs, there's an engaging walk through a typical Victorian / Edwardian era British Columbia working class "town" complete with storefronts, church, school room, home parlours farmyard, lumber mill, fishing harbour and mine shaft. The museum includes a coat check, accessible washrooms, cafe, excellent gift shop and an IMAX theatre with several different shows daily.
