We were so excited about our trip to Victoria. What a wonderful place! And Across the Harbour was the perfect place for us to stay. Zen and Sue are wonderful hosts. They provided us with an abundance of information, maps, and suggestions on what to see and great places to eat that we wouldn't have known about otherwise. Our room was great and the breakfasts were truly something to get excited about! No doubt, if we are ever back in Victoria, we will be staying at Across the Harbour. Thank you, Zen and Sue, for a great experience!!

As most people have said a simply wonderful B&B, lovely location and warm and generous hosts - nothing was too much for them from the welcoming drink thru' recommending and arranging trips and restaurants to a delightful takeaway breakfast for our early departure. Can't imagine there is anywhere better to stay in Victoria.

The indoor/outdoor 2nd level breakfast sun room is incredible with food to match. The warm welcome from Sue & Zen make you feel like you're visiting the coolest relatives you wish you had. Their local tourist info really adds to your experience. The Blue Heron room was very comfortable & the view of the garden was a treat. The location is quiet yet close to everything - walk the West Bay Trail, take the water taxi or less than 10 minutes drive to the Inner Harbour.

Room Tip: Blue Heron Room, large room with jetted tub & fireplace, garden view. .

Not much we can add to previous reviews. Zen and Sue were excellent hosts, from the welcome beer/wine to the comfortable room and delicious breakfasts. It is a 2km walk to the city along a well lit path, so easy to eat in the city without driving.Would love to stay again.

My wife and I celebrated our 14th anniversary in Victoria and our stay at "Across the Harbor" was probably the highlight of our stay. We have never been pampered like we were by Sue and Zen! They both went way over the top to see to it that we enjoyed, not only our stay at the B&B, but also the City of Victoria and our visit to British Columbia.
Sue's breakfasts each morning were a treat for the senses! Beautiful and delicious, WOW! I sure hope she publishes that cookbook soon!
It is also nice to be on the far side of the harbor as you are farthest from all the traffic and business of the downtown and seaplane activity. The water taxi stop is just behind the B&B and is less than one minutes walk. So handy and a beautiful relaxing way to get to town.
When I return to Victoria, there is only one place to stay as far as I am concerned, providing Sue nd Zen are still the innkeepers, Across the Harbor Bed and Breakfast!

Room Tip: The Orca Room was very spacious and had a couch and chair in a sitting room. Upstairs has a little m...

We stayed here for two nights and it was just great. Very welcoming and informative hosts, comfortable and clean room. Super cute breakfast sun room with fun extras like dvds, microwave popcorn, and board games. Sue's breakfasts are amazing (!) and she was even nice enough to make me vegetarian dishes when I was there. The location is outside of downtown, which is nice and quiet. Walking into the heart of things is about a 40 min. walk on a paved, well-lit, very pretty path. You can also take a water taxi which is fun, or just drive, which takes no time. Highly recommended!

My wife, Cathy, and I stayed four nights in September, 2012, with Sue and Zen. Loved it! We stayed in the Orca room, which is large, well furnished (separate sitting & TV area), King bed and large bath. The room, and the inn, are modern, clean, well cared-for and luxurious. The breakfast/common room had a great view of the harbor. Breakfasts were awesome (we are wating for Sue's cookbook). Sue and Zen provide the perfect mix of hosts who can, and genuinely want to, provide you with information to enhance your stay in Victoria and on Vancouver Island, and yet give you your space and privacy. We ate at three of the restaurants they recommended, and loved all three. (Nautical Nellie's for seafood, Pizzeria Prima Strada (Neapolitan/artisan pizza), and a cajun place on the water near Butchart Gardens whose name escapes me at the moment.
Sue and Zen have spent much of their lives in the hospitality business, and it shows in their attention to detail. When time permits, ask Sue about her wildlife experiences in Waterton Park, and Zen about his family heritage (fascinating stories)
Cath and I have stayed at many B&B's in out travels, this is top notch.

Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful. We stayed in the Orca which is the largest, and on the second floor facing...
