Days Inn - Victoria on the Harbour
Ranked #32 of 49 Hotels in Victoria
Reviewed August 17, 2009

Victoria is a lovely spot. The Days Inn was one of the reasonably priced facilities on the harbor (which is where you want to stay). Actually, this four story hotel is an anomaly among the other huge hotels on the harbor. The room is nice, showing only a little wear. If you go in hot weather, be aware that the hotel does not have air conditioning. The staff is somewhat indifferent, but not a problem. The patio serves a great breakfast. Very convenient to local activity.

Standard no frills Days Inn. Don't expect plush and luxury and you don't get it. But for the wonderful location and beautiful views it certainly is worth it! Right on the harbour and minutes from everywhere. We had an annoying adjoining door to the next room which made it overly easy to hear the neighbours. But for what we expected no complaints except for the lack of temperature control. We could not control the heat in the room, there was no air con and there was only a single desk fan which we found in the wardrobe. A ceiling fan would have been usefull!!

We stayed 2 nights at Days Inn Victoria Harbour and we enjoyed every minute. The view is super, room was nice and clean and perfect in size for the two of us. Nice bathroom and very close to city center. The only thing we missed was a fridge. We have stayed at several Days hotels, and this one is in the best 25%. We would certainly stay here the next time we visit Victoria.

Looking over the Victoria inner harbour is a bonus to a clean comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The front desk people went out of their way to assure we had a great time.

Dear Guest ME1216,

It is with great surprise that I read your comment posted on trip advisor. Let me assure you that we have never had such a complaint, and the hotel is very pro-active when it comes to pest control and have monthly inspections in order to avoid any problem, we take guests' safety at heart and all the glassware is washed and sanitized through a commercial dishwasher that is inspected by the health department on a regular basis. I invite you to contact me personally in order to get more information that would allow me to look into this matter further.

we checked into this hotel, they could not find our reservation, luckily I had a copy of our confirmation,so got a room. The view was beautiful overlooking the harbour, but the room was very small and so was the bathroom, with a step up to get to it, I thought this was dangerous which proved right when my husband fell and hurt is elbow in the middle of the night. The worst was there was no airconditioning as the weather was 29 degrees, it was horrendous. On check out I complained and they gave me a BIG 10 % off (approx 12.00) for losing 2 nights sleep. Because it was so hot we had to open the window and the noise was awfull. There are lovely hotels all around this area with balconies to sit out in the evenings and I,m sure they were no more exxpensive to stay. Would not recommend this hotel and will never go back.

We are so sorry to hear that your experience wasn’t the best possible during your stay at our Hotel. Usually the lack of air-conditioning isn’t a problem being located on the Inner Harbour with the ocean breeze, every once in awhile though Mother Nature doesn’t co-operate. We do offer fans in each guest room to try and help in those odd occasions. Some of our rooms do have a step up into the bathrooms which we have put signage up to notify our guests, it is very unfortunate that your husband had hurt himself and we hope he is okay now. We hope you will give us another opportunity in the future to serve your accommodation needs to your complete satisfaction, to show you that our guests are important and we value your business!
