Stayed for one night while on a girls hiking weekend to explore downtown Victoria. The location is absolutely spot on. Right on the harbour across the street from the US Ferry. You can walk around the inner harbour and be in the thick of things within minutes. Free parking, and complimentary breakfast (or 5$ off menu item) were also welcomed perks.
That being said, the hotel is desperately in need of modernization and updating. The rooms were dated - harvest gold and the mini fridge was circa 1960 (although in perfect working order). The carpet was stained and burnt. We were there on a Saturday and there was a band playing in the lounge. Well, you could hear the band everywhere including our 4th floor resonating room. It did quiten down prior to us going out for the evening. The bathroom was small, but functional and the towels were ample.
Do I feel this hotel ranks a 3.5 star level? No. However, if you are looking for a reasonable, functional room that you don't plan on staying any amount of time in, this is great value. If you are looking for a true 3.5 star with a few amenities and modernizations...go somewhere else.More
