We stayed at the Oak Bay Guest House for 1 week in late March/early April. This was our fourth stay and once again we highly recommend it. We stayed in the Romance room which has a sitting room off the main room, great for reading with a glass of wine or a cup of tea when you're not out doing all the things there are to do in Victoria. By staying for a week we got to sample a different breakfast every day, all wonderful as usual. It was our Silver Anniversary and both Egle and Derek made it very special with their kind extra touches. Looking forward to our next stay at Oak Bay.

My husband and I just spent three nights at the Oak Bay Guest House and recommend it highly. The building is loaded with character and feels very homey. Our room (Duchess) and ensuite bathroom were spotless as were all the public spaces we used (living room, dining room and sun room). Our room was right next to the comfy book-filled sun room where we spent a number of hours relaxing and reading and looking out over the beautiful garden that surrounds the house. The breakfasts are delicious with lots of choice. They are very careful to accommodate people with allergies (something I really appreciated) and sent us off each day with a small bag of muffins (just in case!). The morning we left, they served us breakfast early so we could get to the ferry - and then, packed everything up for us to take away so that we wouldn't feel too rushed. Everything possible was done to make us feel welcome - and the rates were very, very reasonable. We have already recommended the Oak Bay Guest House to friends and are looking forward to returning soon.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the garden are quiet, but really, the locale is very quiet.

We stayed at the Oak Bay Guest House in February for 2 nights. This was our second time and much preferred it to the first time. The first time we stayed it was in August and the room was very hot despite a fan ( which was quite noisy ).

The room was comfortable and clean and a nice size. The house was quiet as there were only a couple of other guests. The only drawback was that our room was near the lounge and we could hear people talking when we were trying to sleep. They did not stay up late though.
The lounge is a nice feature as you can make coffee etc. and there is a fridge if you want to keep anything cold.

Breakfasts were excellent.

We found that the winter price was very reasonable. The house is in a great location in Oak Bay on a quiet road. We found much better than staying at a motel on the Gorge or downtown.

We chose this guest house as a convenient location for visiting the University of Victoria; it will be our first choice for accommodation from now on. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the comfortable bed, the good food and all the little extras provided by our hosts which made our stay special. Our son, who coincidentally is a student at UVic was also made welcome which we appreciated.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Romance Room.
