On our trip to Victoria, what my wife wanted most was to kayak on the Inner Harbour. We're from the prairies, and I'm terrified of deep water, so this sounded awful but I went along with it anyways. The morning of our adventure, the skies opened up and it was pouring rain. Nevertheless, Victoria Kayak had rain gear for us, slid us into our tandem kayak, and off we went. It was only the two of us and our guide, which made it easier. He was very patient with an uncertain landlubber. Eventually we got the hang of it, more or less, and saw some amazing things... River Otters, Harbour Seals, Great Blue Herons, Swans, Great Plumose Anenomes, and two types of jellyfish, one of which our guide said he had never seen in the wild before. Our half-day trip took us out to Seal Island and back, with a brief pause at the island for a snack bar and water provided by the company. Even though we got flat-out drenched, it was totally worth every minute and every cent. I would happily do it again, though maybe in better weather.
