We stayed in the hotel for three nights and it was very convenient. Its a short walk to the harbor or Victoria old town and China Town. The room was large, the kitchenette was really useful and the beds were comfortable. It doesn't offer breakfast included and the parking spaces in the garage were a tight fit for a Honda CR-V small SUV, but otherwise it was a great place to stay while sightseeing in Victoria. The staff were very helpful and let us park in the garage the first morning even though it was too early to check-in. I will stay there again if I go back to Victoria and recommend it.

Dear David B,

Thank you for your review on Trip Advisor it is always great to get the insight of a Senior Contributor like yourself.

Our location is certainly one of the main reasons guests stay with us you can virtually park and everything is within a short walk from the hotel. We always offer the opportunity to our guests if they arrive early to park and then they are not lumbered with trying to park downtown.

We have received many compliments on our new pillow top beds I could start a side line selling them they are that popular.

Our underground parking can be a little tight at times but we also have a large overflow parking just across the street at the City Library that works well for us.

We will be more than happy to have you stay with us the next time you come to Victoria, once again thank you for your great review.

Sincerely

Had a great stay at the QI. There were 4 of us in a two queen room. There was plenty of space for us. We were out sightseeing the few days so not much time spent in the hotel but rooms and bed were great. Although there were metal bars sticking out the side of the bed by the window and i did cut myself on it but only a scratch.

The front desk staff were friendly and great. There's a free computer in the lobby and were able to print out documents for our trip to Seattle after this.

Didn't know it but there's a small pool in the basement and a sauna too. Ended up going for a swim both days as the gym was very small, only one bike and a treadmill.

Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Very close to everything, pubs restaurants the bc museum which is incredible is a 2 minute walk away.

Room was spotless. The only real problem was hot wet the floor gets in the bathroom and never seems to dry so have to use a few towels to soak it up.

If you want a great hotel at a cheap rate with very friendly staff then this is the place.

Dear seanonuallain1986,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts of our hotel here on Trip Advisor with the rest of the world.

We are delighted that you had a great stay with us and found the room large enough and clean it is very important to all of us here that our guests are comfortable and are getting excellent value.

I always share comments from guests like you with the front desk as they do deserve a big pat on the back for all their hard work they are a wonderful bunch and I am very lucky to have them represent the hotel so well.

The pool and sauna are great ways to relax after a day out on the town and the lobby computer is very handy for printing out all the documents needed when traveling we find they do get used a lot.

Once again thank you and we hope to see you again in the future when ever you make it back to Victoria.

We have just returned from another weekend in Victoria, Bc staying at the Quality Inn on Blanchard. We find this hotel is of good value, especially considering the location right in downtown Victoria. The rooms are clean, adequately equipped and quiet. Secure parking is available at a nominal charge. We have often stayed at various hotels over the years, but find the Quality Inn suits us best. It will always be our first choice.

The room was big and we had two comfy queen size beds for my sister and I. The big flat screen was a bonus. The front staff were helpful and very pleasant. Great location in the heart of downtown Victoria. Close to all amenities and within walking distance. The restuarant was really quite cosy in an Old English style layout and the food was great. The adjacent Pub was excellent and the food was also great. The courtyard was really nice to sit in and my sister and I enjoyed it tremendously and would highly recommend this hotel. Overall a very good stay. I picked this hotel upon the positive recommendations to which I am more than happy to contribute.

Dear Mary C

Thank you for your kind posting here on Trip Advisor we strive very hard to make sure all of our guests have a great stay and see great value for money here at the hotel and we are constantly striving to improve each and every day.

I was happy to see you enjoyed some of the improvements we have made this year like the new beds the 42 inch LCD TV’s which by the way we have upgraded to High Definition programming to fully take advantage of the new TV’s.

You mention the courtyard which by the way is my favourite place to relax but never seems to get used enough so thank you for letting everyone know.

I have also passed on your comments to the Pub and Restaurant and though we do not run it we do work very closely together and they always appreciate a nice word.

Thank you once again for sharing your comments with the rest of the world.

This is a pleasant property, a little older but entirely serviceable, in a good location that's not right in the middle of things but still easily within walking distance of the Inner Harbour and the major downtown attractions. We had a quiet room on the third floor that overlooked the inner courtyard; in previous stays, my companion has had rooms on the outside overlooking Blanshard and Courtenay streets, which are somewhat subject to traffic noise and noise from passers-by. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Like many older properties, soundproofing from the hall wasn't great - we heard footfalls and conversation quite clearly - but luckily the other residents were relatively quiet throughout our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the courtyard if possible - they're quieter than those overlooking the st...

Dear alphabetkid,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on Trip Advisor they are very important to us. Your comments are added to our overall plan for the hotel where we can improve and what we are doing right.

Being downtown we are subject to some traffic noise but as a rule the traffic does go down after 7:00pm most evenings unless there is an event close by. We have also been replacing our windows and find the new ones we are putting in do help cut down on street noise.

Also thank you for noticing our new beds with pillow top mattresses they are very comfortable and we do receive a lot of great comments on them.

I have also passed your comments onto the housekeeping staff about how clean you thought your room was, the housekeeping staffs works very hard to make sure that every room is clean, as this is without a question what is most important to hotel guests.

Once again thank you and we hope to have you stay again with us in the future.

My husband, son and I were in town for the annual dragonboat festival the weekend of 8/17/12-8/19/12. We were able to reserve a room several months in advance, for much less than the hotel the festival recommended. The room was nice enough, with a flat panel tv and a mini refrigerator. Plenty of lamps and even complimentary bathrobes for our stay. One downside, no A/C, though they did provide a table-top fan, which we needed the first night as it was pretty warm. The hotel was easy walking distance to the harbor, shops and restaurants. Great courtyard with fountain, deck and tables provided a perfect meeting place for other people we were traveling with. The breakfast at the Argyle Attic (attached restaurant/bar) was nice and in line price-wise with other comparable restaurants nearby. Some road noise and shouting from people out and about on Friday evening, but not too bad. Overall, I would stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the courtyard, which will have a small balcony.

Dear Andrea H,

Thank you for taking time to pass on your comments onto us, and you were wise to book far enough in advance to get a great rate, the prices for hotels in the Victoria area do get up there for some of our world class events like the Dragon Boat Festival.

Happy to see you made use of the courtyard as your meeting place we have spent a lot of time updating it and I find it is underused as it is very relaxing.

As far as the A/C goes we do not have in room A/C units but we do have central air that provides cool air via a vent in all the room and for most part this is more than adequate but on those days it hovers around the 30c mark it is hard to tell it is there, but I assure you it is, we spent a good deal of time updating the system this year and were very happy with the results and will keep working on it till it is just right so maybe on your next visit we will see the difference.

I have also passed your comments onto the staff of the Argyle Attic.

Once again thank you for your comments and we hope to see you in the future.

Sincerely
