We just returned from a visit to Victoria. We had a two bedroom suite with a harbor view. Rooms were huge and the view on the harbor was great, BUT...
The noise and the kerosene smells! The hotel is right on the harbor next to the seaplanes take off and landings. The rooms have no a/c and in warm weather the open windows bring in the smell of the fuel. It was nauseating. The staff was very nice and we would have really enjoyed the hotel, but for the noise and smells. I really think they need to put in air conditioning to counteract the problem of the noise and smells in summer. I am torn about this hotel, because otherwise I enjoyed the location and the rooms. They also had free phone calls, free wireless access and a continental breakfast. Nice after being nickeled and dimed for these things at the Sheraton in Vancouver. I wonder if higher floors would help on the jet fuel problem. I hope they get the message and add the airconditioning.
