The views of Parliament and the Inner Harbor are great day and night. Ships, boats & planes are traversing directly in front of you with panoramic views all the way to the Olympic Mountains in Washington. It was difficult for me to leave the balcony and miss the scenery and action of the harbor. Very close to Chinatown and numerous other great restaurants. Don't miss Il Terrazzo restaurant, it's fabulous, and only 2 blocks away. This is not the swankiest hotel in town. Rooms in the Regent are older, including, Formica tops, but immaculately clean. People at the hotel were great, but most Canadians are, eh. Continental breakfast could be better, but it's included. You can always go to Wannawaffle only 3 blocks away for incredible waffles.

Room Tip: get a suite! views and the extra space are well worth the cost. 702 was fabulous 2 bedroom suite (n...

We stayed 2 nights with a king suite facing the inner harbor. The parking and continental breakfast was included in the price. The hotel was extremely quiet; the beds were very comfortable. We experienced very accommodating front desk staff on all shifts. Highly recommend for the for the above reasons and close proximity to the inner harbor.

What a beautiful hotel! Our 1 bedroom suite (thanks for upgrading us!) was absolutely gorgeous! Thanks to you, our halibut made the trip in tip-top shape! We really appreciate the hospitality and accommodating us with the fish. Your hotel is beautiful and I will absolutely recommend it to all of my friends and co-workers who travel your way.

Room Tip: The suites on the harbor are to die for!

Our 2 bedroom suite overlooking the harbour had large rooms, full kitchen and large balcony which we used every day to enjoy the harbour activity. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful with directions as well as restaurant recommendations, always a great choice and within walking distance since we didn't bring a car. Enjoyed the friendly staff at complimentary breakfast and the close proximity to all the main attractions.
Defintely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Harbour views are worth it, higher floors better for views.

We decided to book this Hotel on short notice and canceled our earlier booking. This Hotel is a real bargain: reasonable price, excellent room service, friendly staff, complementary breakfast and just next to attractions and Restaurants. Also parking is free.

Room Tip: Would recommend to pay a bit more for harbour view rooms.

We decided to stay on Vancouver Island at the last minute as part of our family summer holiday in Canada and chose the Victoria Regent from Trip Advisor recommendations - and its reputation is well deserved. Despite arriving very early on the first day, the reception staff were really welcoming and managed to check us into our room immediately. It was on the fifth floor and we were told it had a partial harbour view, so we weren't expecting much, but the outlook was great. It's not the pretty, pretty end of the harbour - we could see the Johnson Bridge and working boats rather than yachts, so it has a slightly 'industrial feel' - but that's not a negative. I could have watched the comings and goings on the water all day. There were sliding patio doors onto the balcony which has a table and chairs. The sitting room and bedroom were spacious and the kitchenette well equipped, with complimentary bottled water and ice available, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. One family member had the sofa bed, but, because the sitting room didn't have proper curtains which pull to cover the large windows, only gauze blinds, it was difficult to sleep in the morning due to the light coming through but this probably wouldn't bother most people.(For light sleepers the early morning sound of seagulls could be a distraction if you leave a window open!). When we mentioned the light problem to staff, they moved us to a two bedroom 'suite', room 106, which was even better, so customer service was excellent. (Room 106 is near the breakfast room/bar area but we couldn't hear any noise). The breakfast is served in an attractive, fairly compact conservatory, again with sea views. The breakfast is not exceptional, but fine. The hotel is near great restaurants and interesting shops and you can easily walk along the sea front to famous sights such as the Parliament Buildings and the old Empress Hotel (where you can catch a tour bus to Butchart Gardens which are certainly worth a visit - the Gardens also serve a delicious afternoon tea - try to book in advance - which costs much less than the afternoon tea served at the Fairmont Empress!). We would definitely return to the Victoria Regent.

Thank you very much for your positive comments and we are delighted that you enjoyed your visit to Victoria. I am also pleased that our team responded quickly to your concern about too much light in the living room and promptly moved you to another suite. I hope we have the opportunity of accommodating you on your next trip to Victoria.

Our first impression opening the room door was how large each room was, including a fully-equipped kitchen. The front desk told us that the rooms are individually owned condos. Free continental breakfast and free parking add to the value. Too bad it isn't part of a chain--we would stay at other units as a first choice. The hotel doesn't seem set up for business meetings--don't appear to have meeting rooms. That could even be good news for us vacationers.
