“Wish my stay was longer”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

This is a fantastic hotel for the price I paid! Got a free upgrade to a harbour-view suite with full living room and kitchen. The free breakfast was lovely, served in a sit-down restaurant with a view of the harbour, offering various kinds of cereals, hot cereal, fresh cut fruit, fresh and packaged pastry, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, juices, and tea and coffee. Very friendly service, and free parking too. Location is great for walking to common tourists attractions. I only wish I could have stayed longer!

What an amazing hotel in an amazing location. We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite with 5 star views of the harbour. The suite itself was luxury (406) with two bedrooms, each with it’s own bathroom, a full kitchen, den and dining room overlooking the harbour. The living room was very comfortable with a fireplace and leather club chairs. The harbour view was mesmerizing … float planes, yachts, sail boats, canoes .. all manner of activity. This hotel is in the perfect location with float plane dock, tour boats and water taxis just outside your door. Because this is downtown, there are amazing restaurants and shops steps away. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the cleaning crew were friendly, fast and efficient. I can’t find a single thing wrong and we will be back. Oh .. and there is an astray on the deck – very civilized - and the way the balconies are positioned there is no way a neighbor can be impositioned, so enjoy your wine and cigar on the deck and just take in the spectacular environment! This would make a perfect get away for two couples looking for a great weekend of fun, luxury and great dining experiences. We will be back with friends!

Whenever we can make it to Victoria (which is not nearly often enough), we stay at the Victoria Regent. To start with, the Victoria Regent is not one of those gigantic hotels with 20 floors and hundreds of rooms, so the service you receive is quite personal. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the ferry landing and the many hotels that are around it, so it is very peaceful and relaxed. But it is only one block away from Government Street, the main tourist shopping street in Victoria, and only a few blocks away from Douglas Street, which is a main street, busy with the every-day lives of real Victorians. The Victoria Tourist Centre is just down around the bend, and there are lots of neat little restaurants in the area. The suites (and we always get a suite) are spacious and well-furnished with full kitchens. The views off of the balconies or out of the floor-to-ceiling windows are not blocked by any buildings and have spectacular views out over the water. One of my most pleasant memories of our most recent trip was watching one of the float planes taxi out across the Inner Harbor into a gorgeous setting sun. There is covered, protected parking underneath the hotel included in the price. There is a very good continental breakfast (again included in the price) with coffee, tea, orange juice, bagels, breads, muffins, cereal, yogurt, etc. And to prove that British Columbia is a sophisticated, modern place, along with the butter, jelly and honey for your toast, there is also peanut butter. How can you go wrong? If you are going to be staying for a while, or if Victoria is well into your trip, the hotel has a coin-operated washer and dryer for your convenience on most floors. Oh yes, wi-fi is free, and there is a business center with a computer and a printer on the ground floor for your use.

Room Tip: Ask for a room or a suite that looks out over to the Parliament Building. It is lighted us like a C...

Great hotel. Central location is perfect for all the bars and restaurants. The view is great, right in the waterfront in Victoria's inner harbour, you can sit there enjoying the coming and goings of the seaplanes, ferries, boats and so many marine birds. The breakfast is good, small cafe overlooking the harbor. The city view room was nicely furnished, clean, but a little noisy, nothing to worry; beds and pillows very comfortable. For us it was perfect. The fantastic, helpful and easy to approach staff is really the most valuable gain. So good and nice to find in every person who works there a big smile and helping answers. We would certainly stay again at the Victoria Regent Hotel.

Our 2bedroom 2bath waterfront suite was recently refurbished and was quiet, fresh, clean and comfortable with a nice view. The hotel was in a central location with helpful staff. The thing that struck us first was that the whole suite was really spacious. The large bedrooms have king sized beds and shower/baths - we moved around easily despite 2 large suitcases and crib. We didn't use the full sized kitchen much but did use the free wifi and convenient laundry facilities on the floor. The hotel delivered bottles of water and ice each night with a weather forecast, which was a nice touch, and a local paper each morning. Parking was part of the room rate. The complimentary breakfast was good with lots of options - juice, tea, coffee, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad, bananas, 5 or so cereals or hot cereal (yummy, like porridge), bread, bagels, english muffins as well as sweet muffins. We got pizza from Formosa pizzeria around the corner, which we enjoyed in our suite and the service was quick. All in all, a good experience and we'd stay there again.

Room Tip: All 2 bedroom suites are in the centre of the building so you don't get views over the nicely-li...

I took a chance and stayed at this hotel with very little prior information. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the room, giant! The kitchen was totally stocked, bed very comfortable and overall a quiet hotel. The breakfast which is included is plentiful, try the breakfast bars! The breakfast is in a small cafe overlooking the harbor and the view is priceless. Right downtown so walking is simple, parking and free wi fi, can't beat it! Service was great as well.

Room Tip: Ask for a good view.

The staff at this hotel were very friendly, helpful and easy to approach. My check in and check out was fast and efficient. The staff opened the continenial breakfast early so those running could eat before the event. The breakfast had healthy, fresh food with enough to appeal to everyone. The room was clean and nicely furnished.

Room Tip: Choose one facing the water to avoid the street noise when the bars let out around 1am to 2am. This...
