“The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”

I just wish I could give this place an excellent review. So many things were just right: the views are stunning, the room was generously sized and very clean, the valet parking was great. We stayed for two nights and encountered major TV malfunctions that required the hotel calling their service provider. We couldn't use our nightlight in the bathroom because the outlet was wired to the wall light switch. The alarm loudly blared music at midnight on our first night. We travel with our own alarm and didn't touch theirs until we were startled awake. The hotel wanted us to pay by the minute to use the computer in their business center---we are use to this service being offered gratis. And the general manager called and left a voicemail at our home a week BEFORE our stay apologizing for problems we had while there????? That required us to reconfirm our reservation and didn't give us a sense of confidence in their management. And our breakfast was seriously overpriced. Don't think we will go back.

This was the last hotel we used during our trip in Canada, and my husband thought it was the best. Staff were helpful. Room spacious and spotless. Everything was as you'd expect from a 4* property: towels, toiletries, service, comfort, etc. We had a balcony with a view over the harbour and enjoyed a takeout meal from Fisherman's Wharf (5 minutes walk away) while watching the sunset one evening. The hotel is a very pleasant 10-15 minutes from "downtown" Victoria. we loved the location and the view. as well as a coffee maker and a fridge in the room, the hotel has a resident's lounge with complimentary coffee and newspapers. We did not eat in the restaurant as it was quite pricey, but it looked good. We enjoyed a swim, but my husband was disappointed that there was no hot tub/

Laurel Point's biggest asset is its position, always get a room overlooking the harbour and you'll not want anything else to do! The rooms are huge, well equipped and spotlessly clean and all of the staff are friendly and welcoming - so why only 4 stars? The basic hotel charges are at the top end of what you would expect for the facilities and position but on top of this any food, drinks or service are way over the top as well. For example, breakfast in the restaurant appears a bit pricey to start off with but to then find that there is an additional fee for juice and then another for coffee? Take a short walk into town or to Fisherman's Wharf and eat there!

Year after year my wife and I return to The Inn at Laurel Pointe. The experience is always the same. Excellent! From Haydee's smile and greeting by name as we walk through the door to the room that we book everytime. It feels like home.

Stayed in a terrace balcony suite. The view was beautiful. The room was enormous. Service was great. The pool was a bit small, and there's no hot tub, which would've been nice. Room service was more expensive than I'd like, but that has been the case in nearly every hotel I've stayed in. I am local to Victoria, and this is where we stay whenever we need a hotel.

Room Tip: The terrace suites are fantastic.

Prompt, friendly service at all times. Location is fantastic. We had a harbour view with small balcony. Great for watching seaplanes and kayaks. Pool area is small but very nice and clean, however they do need a hot tub. Parking is expensive ($17/night).
I would highly recommend this place.

Room Tip: Ask for a harbour view.

We had a truly excellent room in this modern well positioned hotel. It is well located for sightseeing. Interestingly I overlooked writing a review of this Hotel following a trip earlier this year which might suggest that it lacked just that extra something to be really memorable? However I would be very happy to stay again if ever back this way.
