“Lovely position and very comfortable stay at Laurel Point”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

My wife and I stayed at the Inn at Laurel Point for a couple of days at the end of a longer trip to Canada and Vancouver Island. It was a treat to stay there as the finale to our trip and we were really well looked after by friendly, efficient and helpful staff who could not have done more for us. A harbour view room was not available when we booked in, but we were moved to the harbour side of the hotel for our second night without any question or fuss. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable and include all the facilities you would expect. The restaurant was excellent and both breakfast & dinner first class. The restaurant staff were friendly and knowledgeable and seemed always to have time to stop and chat, even during a bury service. Would recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: Some rooms have better views than others, so (if you want one) ask for a harbour view.

My daughter and I spent two wonderful nights at this lovely hotel. Our garden suite with its two comfortable beds and chaise was on a par with some of the top hotels I have experienced world wide. The staff was excellent and we felt we had new friends. Dinner for the family in the dining room was excellent. Have plans to repeat the visit next month.

Room Tip: Newer rooms in the Erikson wing are a good choice

The service at this hotel blew me away! The staff are all wonderful, from the porters to the front desk, to the cleaning staff.

The halls are very spacious and full or peculiar art; but are interesting to browse. The rooms are very clean and have been mostly updated, however a few bits (tables, chairs, etc.) could use an update. It didn't bother me though, as the views, amenities and amazing service made this one of the best stays that I've had.

I'd pay the extra and get a room with a view over the harbour - it was the most beautiful sunset I may have ever seen! The running trails are perfect, and you're a quick 10 minute (maximum) walk from the scene downtown.

We had three lovely days at this hotel. It's close to the centre of Victoria and in a lovely position. The rooms in the Erikson wing are spacious, elegant and comfortable. One of our favourite hotels in Canada, mainly because the staff were so helpful and pleasant.

Room Tip: Ask for the Erikson wing. It looks out over the bay towards town and is quieter. And the rooms are...

Room was well maintained, and clean but a little dated. I had a room on the third floor in theory overlooking the inner harbour, the reality was I had if I stood on my very small deck and craned around the building. The bath was tiny and stained with age. I would say the bath is more like a half bath so if you want a soak after work look elsewhere. The walls are also paper thin, either that or the person next door for one night snored like a train! As for the staff and food, this was very good. Location and interior design of communial space is also great too

I've stayed in Victoria a few times now, and this was the first time not staying Downtown. I would definitely stay in the Inn at Laurel Point again next time, it was so quiet when compared to downtown, and I slept really well both nights. We stayed in the Erickson Wing, on the ground floor.- really big spacious room with sliding doors that led out on to a patio with our own patio furniture and a walk way to the hotel garden area. We could see the water from our patio, it was lovely.

On our first night there was a wedding, which was also on the ground floor and it was pretty close to our room so we were a bit worried about noise, but couldn't hear a thing from our room once the doors were all closed.

We didn't use the restaurant or bar but it looked like it had a lovely terrace with views over the waterfront.

About a 10 minute walk to the Parliament buildings, to give an idea of distance to downtown.
