“Exceeded Expectations”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2013

We visited the Inn at Laurel Point for a weekend in July to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.
The room was large and well appointed with an expansive view of the japanese gardens and the harbour entrance. Watching the daily parade of float-planes, ferries, yachts and water taxis added to the fun.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the downtown attractions but away from all the hustle and bustle.
The Aura restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the location is spectacular and the food is consistently good. The Bennys (Eggs & Crab Benedicts) are the best we have had - anywhere!

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking the Japanese Gardens.

After reading several reviews on Tripadvisor, we decided to make reservations here. We were not disappointed! The staff is courteous and helpful and the location is outstanding! It is close to walk to town and connect with other tourist connections. We stayed in the Erickson Wing and our room was huge and very, very comfortable with a small patio that looks out over the harbor. There is a small Japanese Garden near the room which is very enjoyable. The hotel restaurant, Aura, is not as good as I had hoped but the view of the harbor while dining, is beautiful. I highly recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Erickson Wing is lovely.

From the time we arrived for our 3 night stopover in Victoria it was perfect. The room was large and well appointed - the king size bed was wonderful after long days seeing the sites of Victoria. The balcony, whilst small, was perfect for the two of us to view the outer harbour. Of special note was the service, staff were always willing to go that extra to make our stay memorable and hassle free. Praise goes to the Resturant where the food was excellent. We would particularly like to thank the Maitre de Robin Borne and his staff, their service was warm and helpful, the effect being more like going to a friends house for a sumptuous dinner than to a city resturant. Simply exceptional.

A light room with a large window overlooking the inner harbour, tastefully decorated with good quality furniture. We were on a corner and only had a small balcony but enough to capture the beautiful sunset.

Parking underground was $17 per night.

Attractive dining areas for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pool and fitness centre, laundry and ice making.

Convenient walking distance to the Museum and walk along the Waterfront walk to Fisherman's Wharf to book a whale trip. The hotel would have done it at no extra cost though, but we needed the walk after a long car ride.

We got a water taxi for $5 to Songee for a meal at Spinnakers (not impressed with that). The taxi works really well and runs every 5 minutes I think.

This hotel is extremely large so when I checked in I asked for an upgrade on my room. The room that had been assigned to me was on the ground floor with no view. The upgraded room was in the new wing on the third floor. The room had a large terrace with great views of the Inner Harbour and City. The room was clean and comfortable. This really is a conference hotel so don't expect those small, personal touches. Wi-Fi access was free. The restaurant is small compared to the size of the hotel and it is recommended that you book in advance if you want to eat there. The service in the restaurant is slow both for dinner and breakfast. Overall though the hotel staff are helpful and obliging. It is only a ten minute walk into the centre of Victoria but it's fun to take a water taxi to and from the Central Harbour. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel because I loved the whole ambience of Victoria and the fresh sea breeze.

Established hotel, perfectly positioned overlooking the Inner Harbour. Rooms were very comfortable and staff go above and beyond to make you feel like a friend rather than just a guest. We're already planning our next trip!

As I booked a room at The Inn at Laurel, I had the new Wing in mind. But we were accommodated into the Sunset (junior) Suite in the old wing. Well, benefit or not, as we entered the room, we immediately contacted reception to book a 2nd night. The room was large with a Kingbed from which we could enjoy the sunset, a sofa and coffee table, a leather armchair with legrest and a workingdesk with chair. Internet was complimentary. And not to forget the huuuge terrace, offering a 270° view of Fishermans Wharf and the harbour. We sat many hours watching the floatplanes at take off and landing, (yes, they are noisy, but stop operating after sunset), the Seattle ferry sailing just in front of our room, the water taxis criss crossing the harbour and the many million yachts mooring.
The Inn at Laurel also has a nicely located restaurant patio.
Oh, I forgot to mention the quirky bed: when moving in bed sometimes it squeeks. Sit on the corner edge and the bed will tip over. But we slept heavenly.
The Inn at Laurel is very well located, you can walk to the left to Fishermans Wharf, to the right into town in approx. 10min. We walked for window shopping after dark to town and felt very comfortable as many restaurants and pubs are open and therefore many city goers on the street.
